Bible Prophecy Commentary: More Fire and Heat – Nature is in Birth Pains For the Coming of the Lord
At this point one can't deny that there's a big issue in the US with all the heat, drought and fire. What's causing this and why? As I've said before, I think this is a type of remedial judgment from the Lord God Almighty. He is urging us to return to Him by bringing calamity to cities, states and nations. Examine the following verse … what does it speak to you (remember to read it in context).
"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?" -Amos 3:6 (KJV)
(This also applies to the massive rain and flooding occurring throughout the world today)
You see there is little to no fear of God in our land today and that breeds evil. People don't tremble at His word anymore and that invites wickedness and lawlessness. For the most part, even many Christians don't want to be held accountable by the laws, precepts and statues laid down in His word. People don't want to hear from the Lord, they don't want Him to return and "mess up" their lives.
"Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?" -Jer 5:22 (KJV)
Folks, these are profound yet factual truths that people hold right here and now but rarely are mentioned in our churches. Think I'm talking out of turn? Go to your pastor and ask him if he fears the Lord and trembles at His word. Then ask him to go to the congregation at the next church service and ask the same thing. Observe the responses. What do you see and hear?
Where are you at today … do you fear the Lord and tremble at His word? If not, why not?
