Bible Prophecy Commentary: Birth Pains in Nature –

America was set apart by the Lord God Almighty at its inception to be a Godly nation – one that followed His word and provided a safe haven for the Jews. Now it has fallen into deep unrepentant sin. According to the Old Testament when a city or nation – like ancient Israel, Judah, Assyria, Babylon – turned against Him with wickedness, violence and idolatry, He ended up destroying them. But this did not happen unless plenty of warnings were given by Him before hand. Prophets were sent to deliver His message but most were scorned, ridiculed and some killed. Signs were displayed in nature to get the attention of the people. Most went unnoticed or not taken for why they were sent. I would challenge all who read this today to pull out their Bibles and start reading the Book of Nahum. It's only three chapters.

"The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." -Nahum 1:3 (KJV)

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;" -Luke 21:25 (KJV)

Consider ancient Nineveh and the prophet Jonah. After Jonah preached there the King and all the people repented in sackcloth and ashes. Subsequently, the Lord relented on His judgment. Yet approx 100 years later they returned to their sinful lifestyle and forgot about the Lord. Nahum was sent to deliver the warnings and the judgment for they would not repent and would not listen. Do you see a similarity between ancient Nineveh and America?

I do believe the severe weather we are experiencing all over America and the world – from extreme snow storms, to flooding, to earthquakes, to tornadoes (whirlwinds), volcanoes going off like never before and even dead animals washing up all over – are the Lord's signs telling us to turn back to Him. His Spirit will not always strive with man (Gen 6:3) therefore we should heed His warnings and begin to confess and repent of our sins. We desperately need the Lord in all areas of our lives. We need to turn back to Him and seek His face. Folks, the time is short. Calamities are ramping up in intensity and frequency – Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 17 and 21.

Please consider these things carefully. Read the scriptures and find out what God has done with people and nations that are continually unfaithful (Eze 14). Please remember, that we serve a God that cannot tolerate sin and a God that is a jealous God. Also remember that He is God and we are not – Isa 42:8, 45:5, Isa 55:8.
