Bible Prophecy Commentary – Pestilences:
Well, it’s not happening yet here in the west so we are not too concerned…right? And so goes the rationale of many westerners. Even the major news stations have squelched further news reporting on it, but why? Is it because they think that they can control it or it won’t leak out of the African continent? According to the reports, it seems that they cannot contain or control this virus and that many more will be infected as time moves on. I’m sure that the people of Africa are plenty concerned. Where does this virus fit in the scheme of end time prophecies?
Consider: we have crazed (possessed) animal [ISIS] killers in the Middle East, terrorist groups are out of control, Christians massacred daily, extreme weather everywhere, indecision’s in the U.S., Russia encroaching and now fighting in the Ukraine, immigration unstoppable on the US southern border with potential terrorists coming is as well and now the Ebola virus infection is not backing off. This should be a clear sign that the world is in a mess and that something significant is happening. It is this author’s opinion that we are in the end days before Christ’s return and these things must occur and get progressively worse. I firmly believe the four horses of Revelation 6 are riding with the frequency and intensity of their payload judgments increasing.
Pestilences are a part of the Pale horse rider named Death and his follower named Hades cache of judgment. You see, Death takes the body and Hades takes the soul. This means that many will die not knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They will be transported to Hades, a Greek word for the conscious abode of the dead – a place of torment – Luke 16:19-31. In the west, we use the word hell to indicate this place. The Pale rider and his ‘friend’ will bring war, famine, pestilences and ‘beasts’ which will devour one fourth of the earth’s population. Are we seeing these now? Is this developing before our eyes? I have related my view but I urge all who read this to form their own opinion based on reading their Bibles, praying and watching the signs of the times.
Please be attentive to what is happening in this world. The Lord is returning and so we must be spreading the Good News of the Gospel. This means that we are to proclaim Jesus Christ and Him crucified. His death, burial and resurrection mean He came as God’s only begotten Son to die and pay the price for our sins on the Cross of Calvary. He shed His blood for the remission of our sins so that we professing and believing in His name and atoning sacrifice, would have eternal life with Him when we pass from this life. This is an amazing free gift and we should be spreading this news to our friends and family. For you see without Jesus in our lives, without repentance for our sins on our lips, without living a holy life before Him we will enter the gates of Hades and there receive the penalty (for eternity) for our sins. Friend, what path are you on today? Matt 7:13-14
