My Bible Prophecy Commentary – Lawlessness Abounding:
I firmly believe we are in trouble – spiritually, emotionally, mentally and in physical manifestations! Lawlessness is abounding because the spiritual walls of America have collapsed. Our hedge of protection, IMO, is broken and ineffectual. Scripture is very clear about events to occur in the end times. You cannot but admit that our nation’s sinfulness is growing by the day. Lawlessness in the context of Matt 24:12 NKJV- “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” means sinfulness and iniquity. And it’s increasing everywhere. Why? There is no Fear of God in our land. There is little holiness in following the Lord and His word. There is even less Knowledge of God – most people don’t read their Bibles. And faith … where is it?
What are the churches doing in this onslaught of advancing lawlessness? Our Christian Churches avoid teaching the doctrines of sin, repentance or sorrow for sins, heaven or hell. Little rebirth, regeneration and redemption is taught. However, friendly, entertaining and awe-inspiring messages are preached reflecting mainly the love, grace and mercy of God. Pastors, elders and teachers must remember that God’s love is also in correct doctrine, reproof, instruction and righteousness – 2 Tim 3:16-17.
The enemy of our souls – Satan – is working overtime to blind both the Christian church and all people. Anything he can do to take your eyes off God is a clear victory for him. And he is gaining ground and advancing. But … he (the Devil) will NOT win!! Turn (repent) to God and set your eyes on the things of Christ – read His word.
Are the repetitious polar cold fronts, stormy weather and constant snow afflicting our nation, remedial judgments from God Almighty? Is He trying to get us to listen? Is He blowing warning trumpets in our land to awaken us to righteousness in Him? Again sobering questions that demand your attention.
