My Bible Prophecy Commentary – Ready or Not, Global Financial Chaos Coming?
When Babylon’s King Belshazzar got too cocky, full of booze and over confident in himself and kingdom he violated and profaned the things of God by drinking wine from the golden vessels taken from the house of God in Jerusalem. He and his many lords and princes praised the gods (idols) of gold and silver. Just then a hand appeared on a wall with fingers that penned an ominous message to this rebellious king. The ‘writing was on the wall’ for him and his kingdom. The prophet Daniel interpreted this to mean his kingdom was about to be judged and all was to be lost for this king – Dan 5.
Now China and the US are facing colossal debt crisis’ that could result in a massive financial collapse of this planet’s economic system/s. Why? Could it be that they have also praised and worshiped the gods (idols) of gold and silver … money? We do know that they have profaned the things of God, stiff-armed His wisdom and sought not after His council? Even most of our ‘Christian’ churches, in America, stand for little concerning God’s values and laws. Even they have not sought His council and have become little more than huddles of half-hearted Christians shunning the teaching of the whole council of God. Teaching on the consequences of sin has been ejected from pulpits and repentance is not even mentioned. How long can any nation continue in peace, prosperity and stability without the real presence of God in their midst?
Will these ‘superpowers’ crash and take the rest of the world with them? Time will tell but one thing for certain is that money and stuff are not replacements for Almighty God and one day, I expect real soon, He will return and every knee will bow and tongue confess that He is Lord.
