Bible Prophecy Commentary:

Jesus talked about birth pains or the beginning of sorrows in Matt 24:5-8. The evidence of such events as earthquakes is growing in intensity and frequency – see some historical data here. Keep your eyes on events like this as well as on the extreme weather events occurring all over the globe. Is global warming the cause? I think not, but it seems that man in his 'infinite wisdom' is rationalizing this so as to marginalize the real cause and reason for these drastic unnatural calamities. Read God's Word and be aware of what is to come in the days before His Second Coming.

Keep watch everyone.

Last Days: Israel is Stronger Now Than Ever Before

Bible Prophecy Commentary:

Israel will never again be removed from their land and for that matter be defeated in a war – Amos 9:15. Israel is God's land and the Jews are God's chosen people – the Olive Tree (Rom 11:16b-24), or the commonwealth (peoples) of the nation of Israel (Eph 2:11-13). They are distinct and they are in God's hands forever.

According to Bible Prophecy, all nations will be gathered together against Israel in the latter days and they will stand alone – Zech 12:3. This is occurring now and the threats against them is rising and growing louder. Jerusalem is at the core of this and is becoming more and more a 'heavy stone' for all peoples. There will be at least two wars against Israel before the final battle of Armageddon just before Jesus Christ's return to this earth. Israel will suffer but will also be victorious. In the Eze 38 [Gog/Magog] war, God's hand of anger and fury will defend Israel ultimately and destroy the armies of Russia, Iran and others with rain, fire and brimstone, and great hailstones from heaven. God will turn the armies on themselves and they will destroy each other and only one-sixth of them will survive. This will happen as God's Word says it will – make no mistake.

And therefore – Eze 38:23 – "Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD."

Faint Not!

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;" Luke 18:1

How often do you pray? Daily, weekly, monthly, when you feel like it? Do you pray with distractions around you? Do you pray sometimes on your knees? The Lord says we should pray always and not to faint. So what does this mean? First we should pray often even when we don't feel like it. This can be one of the most important times to pray. Praying is one of the ways we can demolish the strongholds of the enemy when he comes against us in spiritual attacks – 1 Cor 10:4.

What I'd like to focus on is the word "faint" as found in the KJV version of Luke 18:1. What does this mean? The Greek word for faint is 'ekkakeo' which means to be weak or weary. We shouldn't be weary of prayer when afflictions arise or temptations are knocking at your door. Or when others desert us and we are left alone. We shouldn't faint when our prayers are not answered in the timeframe we think they should be answered. God does not necessarily operate on our timeline. Sometimes our answer is to … wait. (I can speak on this from experience).

Prayer has become an antidote, if you will, under such afflictive circumstances that would cause you to faint or do something other than pray. Like … worrying, or doubting or harboring unbelief. These can be destructive to our faith and hinder our abilities to witness or give testimony to others. These are sins that you need to confess through prayer. Pray is the way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and let Him know what is on our hearts. He wants you to go to Him for even the smallest of your needs, He wants you to come to Him so He can show you His provision for your life. And the way to do this is through 'faintless' prayer – for yourself and for others. There's no set time time pray, no special person has to be there, no custom rooms or accommodations, and there's no set number of times per day. Men ought always to pray. So think about these things when you pray and please pray often knowing that He hears you and will answer but remember He will answer when He feels the time is right for you – Psa 31:14-15. Persevere in your prayers starting today. 1 Th 5:17

“Our praying, however, needs to be pressed and pursued with an energy that never tires, a persistency which will not be denied, and a courage which never fails.” — E. M. Bounds

“Quit playing, start praying. Quit feasting, start fasting. Talk less with men, talk more with God. Listen less to men, listen to the words of God. Skip travel, start travail.” — Leonard Ravenhill
