Rapture Ready? Are Your Lamps Filled or Empty? Are Your Prepared or Unprepared?

Wise and Ready or Foolish and Unprepared?

“For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps” -Matt 25:3 (ESV)

Today, I am amazed at people who claim to be Christian but live their lives with their focus not in heaven but in the world. I see and hear all the time what people talk about, do, their cares, but little on the Lord in their talk, discussions and cares. But lets take a look at the parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Bridesmaids) as described to us by Jesus in Matt 25.

Ten virgins took their lamps out to meet the bridegroom but he was delayed. Five were wise and five foolish.

  • The 5 wise took oil in their lamps,
  • The 5 foolish took their lamps but no extra oil,
  • The bridegroom, for whatever reason, was delayed,
  • They all slumbered and slept
  • But one night, at midnight, a cry was heard that the bridegroom had arrived
  • All the 10 virgins trimmed their lamps to go out and meet the bridegroom,
  • The 5 that prepared were on their way,
  • The 5 that were foolish and unprepared and could not proceed. They had to go and find some oil to buy.

What the Bible says about Trimming the Lamp (From Forerunner Commentary)

A lamp is trimmed when the wick is turned either up or down to regulate the amount of flame. If a lamp is empty of oil, it does not matter how much one trims it—the lamp will go out when the oil is consumed.

Apparently, when events make it obvious Christ’s return is immediate, the whole church wakes up in surprise. Its members get out their Bibles to find the answer to where Christ is waiting for them, but with the oil of the Holy Spirit producing only a dim light, they lack the spiritual insight to find Him. It is as though the foolish virgins are stumbling around in the dark trying to understand the Word of God, but they cannot.

At this point, the foolish are in a state of panic; they realize they cannot understand and do not have the faith to believe. They ask the wise for help in understanding.

I liken this to the churches preparation for this event and I clearly believe this is associated with the rapture of His Bride – for the real and true believers in Christ and not the fake, put-on-a-good-front ones.

The virgins (perhaps meaning all those who claim to be a Christian, indicative of the church…) that took oil were prepared and ready for his return. They were so ready in body, soul and spirit that they had no trouble preparing as much as it took ready to meet the bridegroom. Their mindset was on him, their readiness was steadfast and relentless. They prepared by knowing that without the oil, they could not light his way and the procession that was to follow from the brides home to the bridegrooms place that he had prepared. They constantly read their Bibles, prayed and watched to know Him more.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34- For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35- Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36- Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37- And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” -Mark 13:33-37 (KJV)

So how does this apply to us today? Are those who proclaim themselves Christians ready for His return? The return of the Lord to catch away His Bride (referring to the real believers whether they attend church or not). Will those foolish ones, the ones that were not ready, unprepared, focused on the world, that had not enough oil in their lamps, be taken or the door slammed in their faces by the Bridegroom because He didn’t know them? Not everyone who says they’re a Christian will make it to heaven at the Rapture. Only those who love His appearing and are prepared and waiting for His arrival (Heb 9:28).

Many are caught up in the world with cares of family, friends, work, jobs, houses, cars, 401k accts and retirement plans. Money, money, money. Things, things, things. All these distract us from focusing on the return of the Bridegroom and His snatching us away. He has said many times in Scripture that He knows those that are His (2 Tim 2:19; Nahum 1:7; John 10:27).

“But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap; 35- for it will come upon all those who live on the face of all the earth. 36- But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” -Luke 21:34-36 (NASB)

How many of us have prepared for eternal life with the Lord? Do you strive for holiness in thought, word and deed? Do you take the time daily to read His word?

Many people make and take the time to watch the filth on TV but who spends time in prayer and meditation on the Lord getting to know Him more each day?

He sees all those things and He knows our hearts.

Is your lamp filled with oil (preparedness) for His return or are you unprepared and could care less if He returns or not? He knows our hearts; we can fake it to others but not to Him. Are you anxiously waiting for His return? Would you go today without hesitation or delay? Would you still have the same faith if all your worldly stuff was taken from you? Remember, the whole church went out to meet the bridegroom but only a very few were ready and were able to trim their lamps to go and meet the bridegroom. So what camp are you in? Ready, willing and able or poorly unprepared with a careless, lethargic, complacent, position on Christ’s return? .

“But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 7- Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8- And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9- But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10- And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11- Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12- But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13- Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” -Matt 25:6-13 (ESV)

The Collapse of America: Squatters Are Taking Over Homes All Over The Nation On An Industrial Scale And Turning Them Into Dens Of Crime

Editor’s Note: We are in the last days – the end times. There are those that fail to believe the signs and events prophesied in Holy Scripture that foretells the what’s and the why’s of what we are seeing and hearing now. The question is … are you seeing and hearing? Are you reading your Bible and immersing yourself in the God’s Word? Are you walking in His will, right now, today? If you can’t answer yes to these things, please seek the Lord and the Holy Spirit and ask them if what I’m saying here is true or false. Be a Berean (Acts 17:11)!!

“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2- For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3- unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4- treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5- holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these” -Hos 4:1-3 (NASB)

“And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2- He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3- And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” – Matt 16:1-3 (ESV)

Squatters Are Taking Over Homes All Over The Nation On An Industrial Scale And Turning Them Into Dens Of Crime

By Michael Snyder – Feb 8, 2024

Squatting has always been a problem, especially in certain parts of the nation, but now it is happening on an industrial scale all over America.  Thanks to online listings, it is easier than ever to identify properties that are vacant, and many states have laws that make it exceedingly difficult to get squatters out once they have settled in.  In some cases, squatters are able to live rent free in beautiful homes for months or even years.  This is becoming an absolutely massive problems, especially in certain areas of the country.  For example, it is being reported that squatters have taken over approximately 1,200 homes in the Atlanta area…

Squatters are ruining entire neighborhoods in Atlanta and police response to evict is so slow, some homeowners have resorted to paying nuisances to leave.

Brazen squatters even opened an illegal strip club on a property they had taken over — one of the 1,200 homes which has been squatted in the city, according to the National Rental Home Council (NRHC) trade group.

“I’d be terrified in Atlanta to lease out one of my properties,” Matt Urbanski, who manages a local home-cleaning company, told Bloomberg.

There is no way in the world that I would want to own a rental property in that city.

If you can believe it, there is even one company that has been running ads on social media offering to find a prime squatter home in Atlanta for you for a fee

At first glance, it looks just like another real estate pro hustling to rent homes on social media.

But at 1 Time Payment Homes, the site makes it clear these are squatter homes and spells out just what that means in a pinned Insta story.

“The company’s owners will come out, so will the police. The police will tell you there’s nothing they can do about it — squatters rights,” our Channel 2 producer J.P. read off the Instagram account.

Recently, 1 Time Payment Homes has actually been running a “New Year’s special”.

$1,400 will get you the keys to a squatter home so that you can “stack money and turn ya life around”.

Whoever is behind 1 Time Payment Homes should be in prison.

But that is not how America works in 2024

Instead, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone gave those behind 1 Time Payment Homes some type of award.

Of course it isn’t just in Atlanta where squatting has become such a widespread issue.

In the state of Washington, squatters have taken over an entire apartment complex and have turned it into a den of crime

Squatters and crime are taking over a Fife apartment complex. Families and the people handling the property are both beyond frustrated.

The problems are at the Sherwood Park Apartments. Police say the situation also attracted a ton of criminal activity. Now officers regularly patrol the area because of all the problems.

Most of the units at the complex are covered in plywood.

“It’s bad,” said Angel, a resident at the apartments. “The cops are here 24/7. Every day, every night. I keep my kids inside. I don’t let them out.”

Thanks to the absurd laws in that state, it isn’t going to be easy to get those squatters out.

California also has ridiculous laws, and right now “a very sophisticated criminal ring of squatters” is making a ton of money from the Beverly Hills mansion that they have occupied…

A Beverly Hills mansion seized by the court from a fugitive surgeon behind California’s biggest insurance fraud scheme is now a wild party house taken over by squatters, who are profiting off of regular ragers that are driving neighbors nuts.

The Mediterranean estate at 1316 Beverly Grove, listed for $4.5 million has been occupied by “a very sophisticated criminal ring of squatters,” the home’s listing agent John A. Woodward IV tells Los Angeles magazine. The squatters, he believes, are earning upwards of $30,000 a month renting rooms and hosting huge house parties with $100 entry fees.

This sort of thing is happening all over the nation, but the worst problems are in blue states with laws that are very favorable for squatters.

Every single day, predatory squatters are scanning online listings in order to identify their next targets

It’s also gotten easier for squatters to find homes to move into.

Online listings and virtual real estate agents can allow squatters to find vacant addresses and gain access by booking fake appointments.

Some people may not even know they are squatters as scam artists can set up fake listings for empty properties and fake lease agreements.

Once a squatter is in, it’s hard to get them out. It can take three months to get a court hearing for an eviction, and another three months to get a deputy or marshal to clear out the home.

What these squatters are doing is so wrong, but it is getting worse with each passing year.

Meanwhile, things just get harder and harder for people that are trying to do things the right way.  In recent years, many have seen rental prices skyrocket to absolutely insane levels

Single mom Caitlyn Colbert watched as rent for her two-bedroom apartment doubled, then tripled and then quadrupled over a decade in Denver — from $750 to $3,374 last year.

Every month, like millions of Americans, Colbert juggled her costs. Pay rent or swim team fees for one of her three kids. Rent or school supplies. Rent or groceries. Colbert, a social worker who helps people stay financially afloat, would often arrive home to notices giving her 30 days to pay rent and a late fee or face eviction.

“Every month you just gotta budget and then you still fall short,” she said, adding what became a monthly refrain: “Well, this month at least we have $13 left.”

The worse that housing affordability becomes, the more people are going to be tempted to engage in squatting.

Of course this squatting crisis is just one of the ways that our society is descending into complete and utter lawlessness.

We wanted a society where anything goes, and now that is precisely what we have got.

If you need to leave your home for a while, you may want to lock it up very tight, because there are plenty of squatters that would love to invade while you are gone.

Are You Hungering and Thirsting For The Living God?

What’s It Mean to be Hungry and Thirsty for God?

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” -John 6:35 (KJV)

We live in a fast pace and now in many places a calamitous world. And we don’t often take time to consider where we are at with the Living God. Even Christians have become callous to the things of God and yes even the churches, many of them, have lost their way in knowing and understanding Him. Many people have become oblivious to who or what God is and even what it means to be saved.

We all get physically hungry daily and if we go without water for 3 days, we could end up in a terrible state. Physical hunger is only half of our makeup. The other half and most important half is spiritual in nature. And this side of us needs to be equally nourished. Some people eat junk food but if they continue in this mode they could end up physically in a bad way – out of shape, fat-prone, heart issues, etc.  Those who feast on the Lord will enjoy a healthy spiritual lifestyle.

There’s a parallel between our physical and spiritual beings. We [should] hunger and thirst in our spiritual lives and the only true and healthy solution is God Almighty. All other solutions are fake, false and evil. So in light of this, do you and I hunger and thirst for God daily? Scripture is loaded with those that did find nourishment in Him and those that did not.

“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” -Psa 63:1 (ESV)

The big question is we who call ourselves Christians, do we hunger and thirst for the Lord? Not just on Sunday but every day of the week. Do we search the scriptures to find out all about Him? Do we go to our “prayer closet” and seek Him in our quiet time? Do we spend more time in His word than playing on our smart phones or watching movies and the TV?  How about Facebook; do we waist time on this social media outlet more often that we should be seeking the Lord in His word?

“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost. 2 “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.” -Isa 55:1-2 (NASB)

OK, now the look in the mirror introspective question. If we aren’t hungering and thirsting for the Lord then are we really doing His will? I say, no! He wants 100% of us – body, soul and spirit. So if we are not on-board with the Lord 100% of the time, with what are we feeding our souls? Is it Him or the world’s ways, ideals, or [vain] philosophy’s? Or are we spiritually very healthy because we daily feed on His word; we pray, we tell others about the Good News, and we live a holy life unto Him.

Every 0day we hungry and thirst, grab a burger and a drink and go on our way. This happens several times a day. So as believers in God, what are we doing to feed our spiritual soul? Please reflect on these things reverently and take the needed action.  Steer a course to the Lord and never waver.
