Created to Worship the Lord God Almighty

The Heavens Declare the Glory of the Lord

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”” -John 4:24 (ESV)

We were created to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness. But friends, who takes the time to do this today? Who spends even a few minutes just thinking about the Lord, His Word, His meaning and position in our lives, and in just worship and prayer before our King?

Why are most silent?

I would have to say that many are carnal Christians – those that live in the world and serve the things of this world. They live and breathe for what this world provides and what it can provide for them. Little thought is focused on our Savior – Jesus Christ. And even less thought on taking some time to wait in silence before Him with our hearts intent on communicating in prayer and praise with our Creator. Consider this Scripture…?

Come, let’s worship and bow down,Let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker. -Psalm 95:6 (NASB)

Worshiping the Lord is simple but requires our effort. We cannot halfheartedly accomplish this with superficial purpose but must make all attempts to purposefully seek the Lord and tell Him our much we love Him and want to serve Him. Consider the Psalms. Please try to read a Psalm a day; make it the Psalm that matches the date (i.e. Dec 10, read Psalm 10). Do this with the Book of Proverbs as well. Psalms is a awesome place to draw close to the Lord. Give it a try and start today.

And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’”-Luke 4:8 (ESV)

Exalt the Lord our God, And worship at His footstool — He is holy. -Psa 99:5 (NKJV)

When we spend time in sincere worship we show Him our trust, love and thanks for what He has given us especially through His free gift of salvation. During worship we show our sincerity to depart from evil and allow the Lord control over our lives, therefore, confessing a true departure also from the sin that try’s to bind us.

Please take some time today and every day to get alone with God and let Him know through dedicated and distraction-free surroundings that you truly desire to truly know Him more and more and long for a deeper relationship with Him. Seek the Lord and desire to be in His presence.

“Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” -Col 3:1-4 (NASB)

Amen and Amen!

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” -2 Peter 3:11-12
