Many Have Left God’s Word and Their Faith is Weak and Powerless

Will He Find Faith on the Earth?

“I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” -Luke 18:8 (NASB)

What is the litmus test for your faith? How about for your church? Is your faith in Christ built on church attendance, church friends, social gatherings, how often you go to church or your pastor?

The Lord asked if He would find faith on earth when He came. So what does this mean?

Today, IMO, churches have their roots in a socialized Gospel – one that pleases instead of one that convicts (John 16:8). One that tickles the ears and entertains instead of one that teaches truth and the full Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Lord taught the crowds in His time, He taught with authority, and truth even if it hurt – (consider the rich young ruler in Matt 19). Reading and studying Acts, we find the first church – their actions, and their teachings and all in the power of God’s word. By faith, demons were cast out, by faith, people were healed of diseases and the full council of God was spread. What about today?

We have hirelings in the pulpits who could care less if their flock was taught the solid truth – convicting truth – of God’s word. They could care less about human souls and where their destinies will be. False Gospel’s are spreading like wildfire in our houses of worship. Say, … when was the last time you saw and heard people getting saved, healed, demons cast out, lives recommitted in a Sunday morning service? Or do we see fancy choirs decked out in pretty robes? Or very well rehearsed musical skits and worship bands? Let’s face it … there’s little power in the church and for that matter even in the lives of Christians today! Face it – we have become soft, weak, led around by every whim of falsehood. But our pretty churches, inside and out, glimmer with glamour but inside – dead men’s bones! Matt 23:27; Rev 3:1.

I’ve heard it said by somewhat arrogant YouTube preachers that all you need to do to become a Christian and to have eternal life is to just “believe”. What? Yes, belief is key but consider what is said in James 2:19 – even the demons believe but friends, they are not saved. We need the truth for salvation such as found in Romans 10:9-13, Acts 4:13, Luke 13:1-5. Our churches with nicely paid pastors are NOT teaching people the absolute truth of salvation or faith or what gets people into eternity. They speak/preach words to not upset their flocks, and not rock the boat. But to just please and pacify so as to keep the offering plates full and the pews populated. But consider … if we say we believe then we MUST hate sin and we MUST live a life according to His Word, ALL His Words and His will. Where do you find out His will for your life? In the Word of God – the Holy Bible.

Friends, all this I’ve been speaking here is what faith is and how it takes shape in yours and mine lives.

So when Jesus said would He find faith on the earth when He came again, we can see that faith today in the Lord is becoming extinct. May do not know what faith is because their lives are based on what they see, hear and have – materially that is. There is coming a time, as prophesied, that we will have to live by our faith in God alone, no resting on our wealth, savings, 401k’s, jobs, etc. We will have to rely on God to be absolute in our faith. The huge glaring, staring, elephant in the room question is … will you [and I] be ready to face the times of testing and will we come through with faith in Jesus as our guiding light?

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25- and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” 26- “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27- and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” -Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV)

Consider this verse … “Your word is a lamp to my feet  and a light to my path.” -Psa 119:105 (ESV).

Where is your faith today? What is it built on? Who sits on the throne of your life? Do you read and study God’s word daily? How do you define faith?

Please take a look at some examples of faith given to us in God’s word found in Hebrews Chapter 11. Can we fit, or will we fit, into the camps of any of these pillars of faith?

It’s time for you and me, if you claim to be a Christian, to assess and evaluate our lives and see if we are still of the faith (2 Cor 13:5) or have drifted and have been lured into the world’s web of faith in worldliness, materialism, fame or fortune.

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.” -Heb 11:6 (NASB)
