Bible Prophecy Commentary: Signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars-
We don’t know what this will mean so we can only go by what Scripture tells us. Let’s take a look at just a few verses:
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” -Gen 1:14 (KJV)
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,” -Luke 21:25 (ESV)
““I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke. 31 “The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.” -Joel 2:30-31 (NASB)
According to the Talmud, a blood moon indicates a bad sign for the Jews. A total solar eclipse portends a bad sign for Gentile nations such as the US. All we really can do at this point is know what Scripture tells us and then watch, wait and pray.
