The Nakedness of America is Being Exposed By God

What a complete disgrace this election season has brought us as Americans. If you are not upset and embarrassed over the methods, deception and deceit that have emanated from the platforms of these political parties then you aren't paying attention. From unprecedented TV coverage to a cesspool of social media commenting rottenness, our nation is not great and is declining into an immoral terminal sickness never seen before. We are very ill and the prognosis is far from good. God is exposing the nakedness of our Godlessness and sin.

Our Lord talks about a nation that loves its wickedness more than embracing the ways of the Living God. A nation that has forgotten Him and has adopted the ways of violence and evil. A nation of people that no longer knows God and does not fear Him. In the book of Nahum, ancient Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, is in focus. They were wicked, evil, no fear or knowledge of the living God. Remember, some 100 years before the [reluctant] prophet Jonah was sent by God delivering his message of 'turn or burn', if you will, meaning repent or be destroyed. He delivered it, the king heard it and the entire nation repented in sackcloth and ashes. The Lord, in turn, relented on His judgment of destruction.

Folks, events and accounts in the OT have occurred for our edification and learning – 1 Cor 10:11. The stories have been written so we could be warned of what could await us if we followed the same path. Have we learned? No!

The once Godly, prosperous and blessed nation of America is falling right in the footsteps of ancient Nineveh and Babylon. We have become Godless, living in unrepentant sin, with no thought of amending our ways and turning back to God. Hence, we are falling fast and hard. This is factual and evidenced by the toxic and poisonous election campaigns now being run by our so-called 'elite' candidates. C'mon, give me a break. These people – the 'cream' of America's crop – are nothing but Godless and full of deceit, deception, wicked hearts and full of empty promises. Unrest, protests, riots, violence, and subversion from the candidate camps have prostituted this election into an immoral and despicable display of America's leadership. Remember, we had three Godly men running but Americans kicked them off the political stage and look what we are left with!

So, in effect, we are a replica of ancient Nineveh in our Godlessness. From the sacrificing of our children to Molech or Baal on the altar of anytime abortion on demand, which even our Congressional Republican majority is powerless to stop, to to the obscenity of porn to the obsession of the rich and greedy, God has poured immeasurable filth on our nation. If there is one thing that should carry utmost and of paramount importance in these parties platforms in this election, it should be the immediate cease and desist of the murdering of our innocent unborn at any time! Every other platform promise pales in comparison. Let's read what God's take on this, what He said through the prophet Nahum:

"Behold, I am against you, declares the Lord of hosts, and will lift up your skirts over your face; and I will make nations look at your nakedness and kingdoms at your shame. 6- I will throw filth at you and treat you with contempt and make you a spectacle. 7- And all who look at you will shrink from you and say, “Wasted is Nineveh; who will grieve for her?” Where shall I seek comforters for you?" -Nahum 3:5-7 (ESV)

The prophet Nahum was dispatched to warn this once repented Nineveh, now turned wicked again, to return to God. Nahum preached and no one listened. They ignored him and told him to get lost!. We have had several, IMO, God-sent preachers to warn this nation to repent and turn back to God's ways. But very, very few of the 320 million in this country have listened. Now we are in the most wicked, publicized, violent, election this nation has ever witnessed. Why? God has all but departed. What's the future? Just imagine…

From the rhetoric of the White House – that Russia is hacking the elections to the 'surprise' threat that awaits them, this nation is headed for destruction and the world for war. We once were great and other nations feared us but not today. Russia is standing tall and God may just use them to bring this nation down. Time will tell but it seems to this author that the writing is on the wall. We have profaned the laws, precepts, statutes and God-established boundaries as the ancient Babylonians did under King Belshazzar profaning the stolen things of the Temple at a big party fest (Dan 5). So the hand of God came out and wrote on the wall the doom of what was to come. Is America at this stage now? IMO, pretty darn close!

What's next? Keep your eye on the election on Tues and what will come of it. On almost the eve before it occurs, evil is lurking through the dangers and chaos as wiki leaks disclosures and choke the airways of news and radio-talk shows. What in the world has happened to America? Weak and sick from decades of wallowing in our cesspool of sin, greed, lust and idolatry, we have, as I have written many times before, all but kicked God out of every sector of our lives.

Yes, pastors in Christian churches, I'm talking to some of you as well. Instead of leading America in the ways of God, most of you hide behind your pulpits weak-kneed and speak little of the full council of the Lord. Spiritual warfare is overtaking this nation and still you say little of Godly doctrines, but more of non-engaging, non-offensive, calming rhetoric to keep your church 'businesses' afloat. Hence His judgments are starting with you – 1 Peter 4:17. No guts! Cowards! Profaners of God's truth. The truth of the Gospel watered down to make you shine and the people left in untruth and darkness! Your services filled with dramatic and fake displays of compassion and emotion. Some of you have brought "strange fire" to the altar of the worship of God. Read the OT account – Lev 10. Many will be lost to the flames of hell because of what you have not taught or would not teach.

Friends, it's time to get right with God. Who knows what the election results will bring. We do know the depth and breath of just what these campaigns have put on display. Filth, scandal, evil, wickedness, lies, deceit, deception, untruths, protests, subversion, riots, violence and tons of unrest. Listen, if America doesn't return to God then the OT will hold true and we can only surmise our demise – Heb 13:8; Ecc 3:15. Folks, it's face reality time. Time to know God and get on His side for without Him in our lives, evil, wickedness and darkness will overwhelm us.
