The Righteous or the Wicked – Which One Are You?

These two terms should be of paramount importance to you as a Christian or even if you are not. According to the Bible – the word given to us by Almighty God – there are only two types of people in God's eyes – the righteous or Godly and the wicked or ungodly. It is crystal clear that God does not have any middle ground (or leeway) in which a professed Christian has in determining if in fact they are really a Christian. You cannot be a fence sitter in your faith; you cannot be lukewarm for we know and it is written that if you are God will vomit you out of His mouth – Rev 3:16.

These are cold hard Biblical facts folks – truths represented for us and written to us in scripture. But let me ask where do you hear them today? At your church perhaps…?

THE WICKED-

Today's churches are all about not offending, their 'religious' leaders walk on egg shells, if you will, concerning the perceived 'negativity' found in scripture. They avoid talking about these truths like the plague.

"Western Christianity has taken God's truth of the righteous and the wicked and distorted, twisted, and mangled it into a muddied, vague and innocuous doctrine intentionally not preached or spoken of. Something not worthy to be taught from the pulpit, purposely hidden from discussion or preaching, and swept under the church carpet for fear that people would be offended if they were told such things" -Phil Allen

You see the wicked will not enter into His rest for they have not esteemed God's only begotten Son – Jesus Christ – as their Lord and Savior. They have rejected Him and His word. Many live in denial of God, their rebellion against the things of God, they don't know Him, they don't serve Him, they don't pray and seek His face, they don't repent, they blaspheme Christ and by these things they are wicked. Even professing "Christians" are in the wicked camp for their lifestyles are unholy and full of filth with the stain of unrepentant sin as red as scarlet.

Don't be deceived for some think they are righteous by their deeds, etc but in effect because of their rejection of Godly truths and lack of living a holy life defined by God in His word, they are classified among the wicked. Yes, strong truths but … where do you hear them today?

"Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not." -Mal 3:18 (KJV)

THE RIGHTEOUS-

Now for the righteous… Yes, we sin and will continue to sin until the Lord comes but until then we must continue to ask for forgiveness from our sin (1 John 1:8-10) and then sincerely repent (Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19; 17:30).We must not make repeating sin a practice. We must also "strive" to enter the strait gate – Luke 13:24, for many will try to enter but won't be able to.

God's word says there are only two kinds of people in His eyes: those that follow Him and live a Godly life and those that don't and therefore are of the wicked.

Did you read that correctly? Life a Godly life! What does that mean?

** No swearing, cheating, lying. No stealing, idolizing, no idols, no other gods, no slandering, no hating, no compromising with the world., no wavering, no fear of man or this world or sexual impurity or sexual immorality. You get the idea.

** Reading your Bible daily, praying daily, seeking the face of the Lord daily, being steadfast in your faith. Loving others. Looking out for the interests of others. Avoid marginalizing others in thinking you are always right.  Witnessing and sharing your faith. Living in holiness before the eyes of Christ. Seeking the will of the Lord in your life. And more…

Here's two simple Godly life test questions for you: (1) How often to you get alone with God & pray seeking His face? (2) How often do you read your Bible?

Luke 13:24-25 tells us to strive, in other words, to struggle, fight, labor, to enter through the narrow gate via the narrow way. You see the Christian life requires work!  Daily work but our strength is in Christ. Remember that!  And then and equally important, the Apostle Paul has said in 2 Cor 13:5, that we are to examine our faith, test ourselves to see if Christ is really in us. Why?  To see if we are really a Christian living a righteous life.

"Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD." -Jer 9:23-24 (KJV)

Some think that their church attendance, denominational membership or affiliation, likability, strict adherence to the traditions of men are the means by which they will enter heaven. This is a false and misleading doctrine that has infected the majority of our churches today. Many that sit in the pews regularly are of the wicked and many will not escape the things (Luke 21:36) to come because thy have not taken God seriously and live an overt and blatant sin-ridden unrepentant life – one in which they care little about what God thinks in what they watch, read and do.

Some think that just living a good life and doing good things will usher them into heaven when they depart this earth. Not true! Only God's grace and faith in Him will get you into heaven – Eph 2:8-9. Yes, we are made righteous when we become saved but we must continue living a holy life for only by holiness will we be allowed entry into His kingdom -Heb 12:14. This is living a righteous life before His eyes. On the other hand, the wicked will be destroyed – Psa 145:20.  In today's society the corruption, wickedness, lawlessness, and rejection of Christ has increased many fold and so out of the many that have been called only a few will be chosen – Matt 22:14.

Hearing these words can be tough. But these are true words. Please if you don't believe me then search the scriptures and see if what I have said here is NOT true. Prove me wrong or find errors, be a Berean – Acts 17:11. We live in a time where it's time to get serious about our relationship with God, it's time to wake up from our slumber. It's time to get off our high horses and humble ourselves before the Lord and Savior of our souls. Time is running out – the last days before Christ's return are here.

Are you saved friend?

If not, seek Him, confess and repent of your sin – follow His instructions for salvation found in Romans 10:9-10. Our hope, joy and strength come only from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen!

"The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." -Psa 11:5 (KJV)
