America: "God, We No Longer Need You, Go Away!"
"The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one." -Psa 14:1-3 (NKJV)
The polls have indicated that some 70% of American's claim they are Christian. But if that is the case then why is America in such bad spiritual shape? Now I know polls can be somewhat skewed to the left and to the right but consider the condition of the moral fabric of our society … it's been ripped apart into disrepair. Crime is increasing across America at an alarming rate, our society is based more on "socio-textno-ships" (social texting relationships based on technology) than social contact. Our military is buckling under the weight of sexual and immoral perversity – suicide rates up, sex related crimes up, gay rights taking precedence up. The morality in America is declining with each day – we are becoming more callous to what is right and what is wrong. We have become hedonistic – living for maximum pleasure through idols in the form of: entertainment, sports, celebrities, cars, smart phones, etc. America's financial stability is on the rocks ready to drown in an ocean of greed and lust. Apostasy in the church is gaining ground every week. People are less God-inspired, less sensitive to the moving of His Holy Spirit, rarely take time to read their Bibles and attend church only to make them feel good and have others see them. Where's the sincere Godly worship? Where are the broken people who know their sin and weep in sorrow over it? Where are those that repent?
We still murder the innocent unborn through abortion – this is similar to the ancients sacrificing their children to pagan gods – Jer 7:30-31; 32:35. We have massive corruption in our governments – men calling good those things that are evil and evil good – Isa 5:20. Men who are not Christian and follow after the dictates of Almighty God. We have compromised [once held] Godly values and we tolerate all kinds of evil and wickedness in our homes, businesses and churches. Evil and lawlessness are spreading like a cancer in all areas of society. Where are the praying people? Where are the people who search for God? (Psa 14:2; Isa 55:6-7; Prov 8:17)
Where's God in Our Lives?
Who prays today? Who seeks God? Who reads their Bible daily? Who has faith and trust in God Almighty and in His Son Jesus Christ? Who goes into their "prayer closet" and gets alone with God talking to Him with sincerity and honesty – pouring out their hearts before Him. Who gets on their knees anymore before a righteous and Holy God? Who relies more on His Holy Spirit for direction and guidance than any friend or a family member? Where are the church pastors who teach about sin, and repentance? Where are the pastors and elders who lay hands and anoint with oil those that are sick? Praying in church is good but where are the feet to those words? Where are the faithful?
Our Hedge and Walls are Broken Down
We have become 'lazy' about the things of God. America's hedge and walls of protection are broken down and this has allowed all kinds of evil to infect and plaque our land. Strangers are coming in to destroy, kill and steal – Amos 3:11.
"I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; Its surface was covered with nettles; Its stone wall was broken down." -Prov 24:30-31 (NKJV)
"And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. " – Isa 5:5 (NKJV)
Folks, it's time to get right with the God of the Bible. These things I listed are serious and real. It's time to stop playing around with the things of God and get sober about them. The woes of this land will increase as the days get closer to His second coming. If you think things are tough now wait until the Tribulation period (seven year timeframe) starts as prophesied by Daniel in Dan 9:27. And above all think on these words from Jesus:
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." – Matt 7:13-14 (KJV)
God has/is warning us but are we seeing and are we listening? There will be no excuses when He comes to separate the wheat from the tares (Matt 13:30). Where are you at with Him today? Are you saved right now?
