Bible Prophecy Commentary – Russia vs. the West:
I have a strange feeling about Russia and their ambitions for territorial control. And also for their ultimate quest global superiority militarily and economically. They are 'greasing' down and flexing their military might in the face of NATO and the West. I am by no means a fan of Russia – their ideology or anything for that matter but it is obvious that Putin will not be backed into a corner and forced to withdraw. When he threatens any nation that tries to "pressure his country" we had better take notice and listen. His demeanor more and more is reflective of a bear and bears don't like ot be cornered.
These guys are tough and they mean it. Many Bible Prophecy scholars believe that they are the nation reflected in Eze 38 by the name/s Rosh or Meshech and Tubal or any combination thereof since the exact locations are not known, at least, at this time. Whatever the case this author believes that Russia with their advance in Crimea and now the Ukraine is after geopolitical advancements and will stop only when taken out by Almighty God Himself (Eze 38:21-23) on the mountains of Israel in the battle of Gog/Magog – Eze 38/39. They will not prevail and will suffer God's wrath along with several other nations. Right now they are doing exactly what the Lord has planned for them for God is on His throne and in absolute control.
A big question lingering is … who, where and when will they attack? America or the UK or …? There is much unrest on this planet – war, rumors of war, riots, peace removed, killings, etc – all seemingly increasing. This world is ripe for war on many fronts and in many lands. Keep your eyes open and ears attentive for what's next. Is suspect that it won't be good. The Lord Jesus Christ is returning sooner than we may think. Keep watch and in prayer.
