Bible Prophecy Commentary – Black Horse Riding?
Rev 6:5-6 describes a Black horse with a rider that carries a pair of balances in his hand. From the midst of the four beasts that sit around God’s throne in heaven a voice came forth proclaiming the tremendous cost of food that one would have to pay just to survive. Folks we can easily see this playing out right now, in fact, it’s been coming for sometime. The global economic situation looks bleak and now with the new drop in oil prices we may see the nations of the world start to squirm as the once stable element – oil revenues – of their economies starts to dwindle away. As the price per barrel drops nations will scramble to shore up their downfalls. But what will this look like? What will they do and how will they react to such a dynamic change in their GDP’s? And as you read Michael’s article above, a host of related economic structures may also start to slide producing a financial ripple effect. And this is not just limited to America for we know the EU is in tough economic shape as well.
As the days draw nearer to the Lord’s return the world will face many, many calamities and none of them will be nice. Why? Sin – mankind’s rejection of Almighty God and His law and rejection of His only begotten Son – Jesus Christ – who came to offer His free gift of salvation and hope. So as man continues to stiff-arm God more and more and the sin of nations reaches its ‘full’ point, [remedial] judgments will increase. How do I know this? From reading and studying God’s word – the Bible. God is dealing with mankind as He dealt with ancient Israel thousands of years ago. The pattern is the same and so by learning from their example/s we can be so admonished – 1 Cor 10:11.
Friends, you had better be paying close attention to what’s going on on the world stage. What players are being prepared and who may be already on the stage. What economies are facing; food prices, droughts, extreme weather, etc. There is no one on this planet that can afford to be indifferent with their head in the sand carelessly living like there are no problems or that nothing will affect them or their way of life. We must, as Christians, watch and pray daily to be counted as worthy to escape the things that are coming upon the earth – Luke 21:36.
