Bible Prophecy Commentary: Pestilences, Diseases and Super-Bugs:

We know that the Pale horse of Rev 6:7-8, carries with it much death. In fact, the rider’s name was Death and Hades (or hell) followed closely behind him. This rider wielded enough power to kill with the sword (war), hunger (famine), death (plague) and the wild beats of the earth (diseases, pestilences, beastly men) up to a quarter of the earth’s population. The transliteration of the word ‘beasts’ (or ‘therion’ in Gr) means animal, wild animal, wild beast, a brutal man, savage, ferocious (re: Blue Letter Bible:Strong’s G2342).

So the picture painted by this judgment is total death. As when the body dies it is represented by the rider named Death and the [unsaved] soul by his sidekick call Hades or the eternal destination of the unsaved soul. Not good news to say the least.

Are we beginning to see some of the power of this Pale horse released? Very possible, certainly in with the sword and famine – war and hunger. Are plagues and wild beasts next. Wild beasts can represent pestilences and/or human beasts, like we are seeing over in Iraq right now with rapid advance of the group ISIS.
