Bible Prophecy Commentary – US Drought Continues:
Some would scoff at this being a sign of the plethora of sin this nation is now engulfed in causing the hand of God to be lowered in judgment. Many more would laugh about the possibly that a loving God would bring some calamity to His creation (Amos 3:6). Most don’t read the Bible and realize that this has been His way of judging nations for their constant rejection of His name, gross [sexual] immorality, wickedness, Godlessness, idolatry, fornication, people thumbing their noses at God and the list goes on and on. Eze 8:17
Friends, this drought does not seem natural. It is not global warming. I fully believe according to scripture that this is God warning this nation to turn around and come back to Him (2 Chr 7:13, 14, 19-21). He is clear about this as it did occur to ancient Israel:
“And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.” -Amos 4:7 (KJV)
This is no joke or laughing matter. God is serious, His judgments are just and He cannot tolerate sin forever. The Lord is loving and merciful but His patience does not last endlessly. Remember, Noah and the flood – Gen 6-9. Recall Sodom and Gomorrah – Gen 19? Make no mistake, He is not kidding about persistent unfaithfulness and sin.
Here are a few scriptures that show God used drought as a judgment against people (nations) that refused to acknowledge Him: 1 Kings 8:35-37; 2 Chr 6:26-28; 2 Chr 7:13; Hos 13:15
“We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.” -Dan 9:5 (KJV)
Keep alert, keep watch, keep your eyes on Israel and keep in prayer.
