Strength Through the Scriptures During These Difficult and Uncertain Days

Bible Prophecy Commentary – Strength Through the Scriptures:

Whenever I face a life situation, I always get out my Bible and start searching for what God has said about the situation and what to do next. For instance in Matt 14:22-23, we have an issue of faith. In the midst of a terrible storm, Peter saw Jesus coming towards the disciples in the boat. The disciples were terrified and thought He was a ghost. A fierce storm raged all about them and Peter asked to go out to Him. Jesus said to come. So Peter started walking on the water towards the Lord but when he looked around at the situation he was going through his faith broke, doubt took over, and he began to sink. Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”. Today, this virus pestilence is storming around the globe and many are afraid and worried. According to the Lord, He says don’t fear, don’t be afraid and do not worry. Put your full trust in Him and let Him see your faith shining through the storm.

I think this is an issue with many Christians across the planet these days. Especially in Western Christianity. What has solidified our faith in the Lord at other times?  Do we have faith that the Lord will protect us (Psalm 91) and guard us (Psa 46 – God is our refuge and strength) and watch over us?

I have jotted some very appropriate verses that I have leaned heavily on in the past months. I hope they will help you too.

Psalm 46:1-3 – God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2- Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3- Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah (ESV)

Psalm 34:7 – The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. (KJV)

Psalm 31:14-15 – But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” 15- My times are in Your hand; (NASB)

Isa 43:2 – You are Mine. 2- When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Jer 17:7-8 – “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8- He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious (worried) in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” (KJV, emphasis added mine)

Isa 26:3-4 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4- Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: (KJV)

Keep the faith, remain steadfast and trust in the Lord,

Brother P

PERILOUS TIMES IN THE LAST DAYS!

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. -2 Tim 3:1-5 (KJV)
