What Do We Do Now About This Advancing Pestilence – COVID-19?
This COVID-19 virus is getting seemingly worse and many are making light of the graveness of this infection. This virus can kill people and IMO it’s a pestilence that Jesus warned us of in the Scriptures. We as Christians, people of the Book, followers of Christ, warriors armed with Holy Writ will NOT bow down do this virulent, hidden beast of an enemy. Instead “Be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His might” – Eph 6:10.
The Lord God Almighty gave us the Scriptures so we could learn by them and know what to do in the times we are in right now. Let’s take for example what happened to the Israelite’s in Numbers 16. Please take a moment to read…
Now, Korah and his crew were rebelling against God’s anointed leader Moses, so the Lord took care of them in swallowing up all 250 of them including men, women and children. After this justice of the Lord was accomplished, the rest of the congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron for what they did or brought upon the Korah followers. The Lord was angry and told Moses to depart from them because he was going to destroy them …“and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 45 “Get away from the midst of this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”.The Lord was ticked off at them and wanted to destroy all of this congregation. (Don’t forget, the Lord is loving, kind and merciful but … He does have limits and His patience can run out). Has it now run out on the world…?
So Moses, the anointed man of God, told Aaron to go and fill his censor, put fire on it then lay incense on that and go and make atonement for the people for God’s wrath had gone out upon them.
“And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire on it from off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.” -vs46
Incense to God is today can be referenced to the prayers of the saints (Rev 8:4). So Aaron went and did this and stood between the living and the dead and the plague stopped. Still 14,700 died but the plague (pestilence) was ceased. God stopped it but why?
Because Moses stood in the gap for the rebellious and grumbling people. Is this any different from today’s society? No! We complain in every way possible. We don’t read our Bibles. We play church. We do not harbor an attitude of gratitude, and we cast off love for idols, wealth and position. America, along with this world, has rejected God, poked Him squarely in the eye through rebellion and through worshiping other gods, and therefore have provoked His anger.
If there is any way to make this COVID-19 stop it’s through sincere, heart-felt, no-kidding, serious PRAYER and REPENTANCE for our sin. President Trump needs to lead this nation along with all of Congress (on their knees) in prayer to God to stop this plague. But until that happens, we can stand in the gap for our nation, city, town, family or county through constant prayer. This is the only way this will stop!
Please people, pray! Today, tonight, tomorrow and until our censors filled with our prayers reach the nostrils of Almighty God. Take this to heart everyone, don’t scoff, believe and be set free!
