The Lamb’s Book of Life — Is Your Name Written Within It’s Pages?

There is No Other Book In the Universe More Important Than This One –

Ensure Your Name is Written Within Its Pages!

“Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.” -Psa 69:28 (KJV)

Do not think yourself [eternally] secure in your deeds, your good works, in your church attendance or in trusting in anything or anyone but Jesus Christ. For if this describes your faith – if your faith is only built on what you do, you will not inherit eternal life (John 3:16; Rom 10:9; Eph 2:8-9). Each and every day we are to reassess our life in Christ to see if it meets His requirements – “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” -2 Cor 13:5 (ESV). For in this do we know that we will see our Lord and Savior when we pass from this life through the doors of death into eternity.

The world is full of books – large, small, big and tall. From children’s books to highly technical or mathematical books from academia. Books from all venues and sources fill our daily lives. In fact, I don’t think a day goes by that you don’t open at least one book to gaze or refer to its contents. Books spread information about a variety of topics. They educate and help us understand people, things and the world in vast detail. Additionally, books help us determine where we’ll vacation or visit, they help to know destination information, what it’ll be like, who’s there, living accommodations, etc. Books inform us of many things. But books also record information.

“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” -Luke 10:20(KJV)

The greatest book on earth – the Bible – informs us about Almighty God, Israel’s history, Jesus Christ our Savior and His mission (death, burial and resurrection) for us on earth. The Bible also predicts what will happen before Christ’s return to earth in the language of Bible Prophecy. However, there is one heavenly book that stands out singularly as the most important Book in the Universe – in all Creation!

This is the Book of Life and its location is in God’s home in heaven. He is the only record keeper of this Book and He keeps impeccable and highly accurate records of our lives. Our every word is recorded to the point that we will have to give an account for every careless word uttered throughout our lifetime – Matt 12:36. The Book of Life is very special for if your name is not found written in it you will not enter heaven. Your eternal destination will be in hell.

So how does your name get written in this heavenly book? Call on the name of the Lord – Rom 10:13. Calling on His name means you must also confess Him as your Lord and Savior. You must also believe in your heart that Almighty God raised Him from the dead. Finally, you must confess your sins and repent of them and turn away from the sins that easily beset us – in your attitude and ways. This is what calling on the name of the Lord means. But things can change …

You can stumble on this journey through life and sin. But He makes provision for this in that if you ask for forgiveness and again repent you will be forgiven – 1 John 1:9. I call this “spiritual breathing” but we cannot [use this as an excuse and] keep on sinning making it a habit resulting in profaning the name of the Lord – Heb 10:26-31.

Many will claim the “once saved, always saved” doctrine is scriptural. I say absolutely and positively not! Do not believe in this unBiblical doctrine.  It has positively no scriptural foundation and many people use it as an excuse to keep their sinful life going. The people, pastors, and scholars that claim this have not read and studied their Bibles under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They may be pleasing men more than God with this teaching. It matters not how famous you are or how many years you have been evangelizing or how many sermons or books you have been involved in. It matters little how many academic credentials you have hanging on your walls. What matters is the truth of Sola Scriptura (the Bible only). The truth is plain and we can turn away from the Lord and turn back to the world if we so choose.

*** Read Rev 3:5, Ex 32-31-33 and Psalm 69:27-28. Friends, looking at this from an academic perspective; if your name was written in the Book it was in pencil and can be blotted out or erased. Remember, the Lord God Almighty said that your name can be blotted out, not me. The interpretation is not complicated, it’s plain and simple. ***

Hands down, the most important thing that you can do while in this body dwelling on the earth is to ensure your name is written in the Book of Life. And ensure throughout your journey here by faith in Christ – how you live for Him – that your name stays in His Book. Many go to church and claim to be Christians but don’t know the Lord and are not saved. Their names are not written in His book and will not enter His rest. Examine what the Lord says we are to do throughout our lives:

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” -Phil 2:12 (KJV)

Did you read this? Work out your salvation! That means it’s a daily affair with the Lord and with you. In Greek, “work out” means to bring to an exact and definite conclusion. Fear the Lord with trembling for it will help you keep on track -Prov 9:10. Then how about this verse:

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. ” -Luke 13:24 (KJV)

To get our name written in the Lord’s Book of Life and have it stay there is no easy matter. It’s not just a simple prayer you pray once in your life and poof that’s it. No! You must strive daily to stay on the narrow road that leads you to eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ. In Greek, “strive” means to struggle, striving as an athlete in an event or competition; or to contend, as with an enemy or adversary. So then, you must make every effort, be aware of your sin, and examine yourselves to see whether you are still of the faith – 2 Cor 13:5.

Yes, this is tough and living for Christ is not easy. We must take a stand against sin and hold fast to the Lord’s word so as to live an acceptable life before Him – Rom 12:1.

Now don’t be deceived, there is a flip side to this. Here are some types of people that will not be in heaven and their names are not written in His Book.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” -Rev 21:8 (KJV)

“… no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.” -1 Cor 6:10 (HCSB)

Nothing profane will ever enter it: no one who does what is vile or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.” -Rev 21:27 (HCSB)

Today, if you find yourself in any of these categories, take immediate steps to seek the Lord and call on His name. Believe, confess and repent for only then can you be forgiven. Death could call on any of us at any time – we have no guarantees of even our next breath.

Are you ready to stand before Him? Seek Him while He may be found and do this now. If you have sinned and fallen, get on your knees and ask for forgiveness. Then make a U-turn (I mean a serious, no kidding change of your attitudes and ways) in your life and get back on track with God, He’ll pick you back up. God is love, mercy and kindness but also understand He is also a God of judgment and accountability.

These are highly important topics for you to consider even if you are a claim to be a Christian. The biggest question you will ever face is Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Is it…?

THE KING IS COMING! ARE YOU READY TO MEET HIM?

The Lord Knows Those That Are His. But Does He Know You?

Have You [Seriously] Confessed the Name of the Lord?

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” -2 Tim 2:19 (NASB)

There are some that say just believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is enough to get you saved and into heaven. I say not quite. You see even the demons believe but they are not saved – James 2:19. Salvation is not about works but about your faith in Christ received through His grace – Eph 2:89. Additionally, Rom 10:9 says – “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;” and also to repent of your sin – change your attitude and life – Acts 3:19.
So with these things said, can you say before the Living God that you really know Him? Do you think He knows you? Friends, these are stunning questions that drive a stake in the ground of just where you are at with the Lord Jesus Christ.

We must ensure we read all Scripture to know the truth.

Confessing His name means that you name Him as your Savior and King (which BTW, many say they do in our Christian churches today) then … look what it says – for those the Lord knows – they MUST turn away from wickedness (other versions describe it as unrighteousness). Did you get that? Turn away from anything that the Lord says in His word that is not pleasing to Him. For anything that goes against His written word is sin; yes, even your (my) lack of faith – Rom 14:23.

So you like TV, well, what do you watch? What things on TV attract your attention; that you grant authorized access in through your eyes and then into your soul? Think about this… If you watch things that are anti-Biblical, vile, corrupt, evil, filthy, or even R or X-rated stuff, if you watch these things more than once, face it, you most likely enjoy them.

And … your senses – thinking, words, actions – will start to take the shape of the things you let into your heart, mind and being – the “gates” of your soul.

This is not called righteousness [living] watching. You are enjoying and focusing on worldly things and not on the things the Lord says to focus on. Yes, this is a startling picture of just what His word is saying. Now move that into what you read, etc. And how about your speech: still filled with pompous, dirty, swear words – i.e. you do not bridle your tongue. Read what God says about this and your religion in James 1:26.

Do you trust in the Lord? Do you confess Him as your Savior? If so, what occupies your time, your thoughts, your motivations?

Based on just what I’ve presented so far, do you think the Lord knows you – John 10:14? Are you one of His flock? Do you take refuge in Him? Is He your Rock upon which you will not be moved?

The flip side of this is – do you call yourself a Christian, do the church thing, sing the songs and talk the talk but when it comes down to it, your mind and direction is in and of the world. Folks, it’s time to rethink and re-chart your course back to the Lord.

Try this verse as a wake-up call to your soul…

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.;” -1 John 2:15 (KJV)

This is a strong verse that points you toward the Lord or away from Him. Read it several times, look in the mirror and decide what side of the fence you are on. And there are only two sides – with Him or against Him. (Bet you never hear these things in the church you attend … wonder why?).

One final thought – how often you you pull out your Bible and read it? Daily, weekly, once a month, rarely? Answer truthfully and then consider if it’s not daily then there’s a problem. This of course applies to those who have ready access to Bibles like here in America. What excuses do you come up with as to why you don’t read God’s word? Too busy, too tired, not enough time, can’t understand it, there’s no priest to interpret it for me. These are all lame answers and hold zero water. If you maintain one or more of these excuses are you in fact finding the word of God contemptible? Come on … answer truthfully. Listen to what the Lord says about people like this.

“To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.” -Jer 6:10 (NASB)

Are your ears closed to God’s word in your personal life (outside of church) so you cannot hear? Do you find no pleasure in reading His words written to us over the centuries? Words to help us daily – to trust in Him, to find strength in Him, to love Him, to know Him, to help bolster our faith in Him. Yes, these are very passionate words to a generation of Christians that have lost their first love, rationalized their  ways to please themselves and in reality do not know the Lord and by the worldly love, actions and choices they make. So, does He – the Lord God Almighty – know you? Consider His words seriously, today. Where are you at?

Bottom-line: If you have “dismissed” the Lord in your life by lack of faith, trust, reading your Bible, clinging to the world, turn around, make a “uey” (u-turn) and seek Him now this very day. Ask forgiveness for your sins, confess Him as your only Lord and Savior, then repent of your worldly lifestyle – thoughts, actions and words and turn back to Him. Do this today! Amen.

Remember, there is only one way to enter heaven and that is through belief in the Lord as your Savior, professing Him as your Lord, that God raised Him from the dead. Then repent of your sin.

Keep in the forefront of your mind these Biblical facts:  you will not enter heaven just because you lived a “good” life, focusing on knowledge, experiences and good intentions. Or practiced salvation by works as some religions teach and do. This is not scriptural and your final destination will be one separated from God … forever!

THE KING OF GLORY IS COMING — WILL YOU BE FOUND WORTHY AND READY?

Keep your lamps filled and ready for His arrival!!

WARNING! – Stay Alert, and Keep Watch! Do Not Be Found Sleeping!

Stay Alert and Keep Watch!

“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34- For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35- Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36- Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37- And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” -Mark 13:33-37 (KJV)

These were commands from our Lord. They are not optional. They are to be heeded and followed but how many have thrown them aside for their own wisdom and intelligence?

Some have video cameras installed inside and outside their homes/business to provide as it were a constant sentinel that stands watch over their homes or businesses.  They have installed these to keep watch over their stuff and be ready to be alerted to unwanted visitors. The key phrase here is “keep watch“. But who is watching vigilantly for the return of the Lord? I would venture to say that most Christians are not. This is sad and disheartening to know that those who call themselves Christians have become callous to the return of the Lord and do not look forward to His return.

Jesus has commanded us to watch and be alert many, many times in His word and therefore, there will be NO excuses for not watching or not being ready!

You see not many are keeping watch or staying alert looking for the signs of His return. Why? Lethargy, complacency, laziness, lack of knowing their Bibles and some with no desire to leave the comfort of their present, pleasant lives. Keeping watch involves knowing what’s happening in the world and what the Bible says (what the Lord said) would precede His coming.  Keeping watch calls to account personal accountability. God has chosen to speak to us through His word – the Bible – and through signs such as with the lights in the heavens – the sun, moon and stars (Gen 1:14). He has also chosen to communicate via the environment and through nature.

Reading Matt 24 and Luke 21, the Lord says that many things will preclude His coming and gave us an outline of what they would be. Here are some of them – the birth pains or the beginnings of the signs. Are you paying attention? Remember, the Lord Jesus lamb-basted the religious leaders of His time (today’s pastors, priests, teachers, evangelists, church) for not knowing about His first coming – Luke 16:1-3; Luke 19.

Deception

Tons of lies, false truths and twisted rhetoric is spewing from our government and especially from the White House. In fact, nations and their governments around the world are deceiving people by the millions. Lies about how everything will be OK or this is just temporary or there’s no food crisis, etc, etc.

Remember, in not too short of a time the Antichrist and False Prophet will make their move to come on the scene and their dictates will resemble what’s happening now across the world. And many people are following lock-step into submission – right into their collective hands of deceit, and lies. People are sleeping in mass across the globe and it’s very sad to see this.

There is a twisted web of lies and deceit coming from political leadership across the US. Many of our national leaders are being fooled and led by dark “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph 6:12). Bottom line – they are being led by Satanic forces falling right into their trap and web of deceit. Why? They have rejected Almighty God and He has left them to their own devices.

According to God’s word,

Deception is a huge sign mentioned by Jesus 4 times in one chapter. This is both extremely significant and important and we should pay close attention to what this means in our lives. Many wolves have entered the Christian arena (Acts 20:29) and are bent on destroying Christendom through false teaching and false doctrine.

Many follow the tradition and wisdom of men thereby leading many to the gates of hell.

Many preachers have and are perverting the word of God for their own gain, thinking and teaching that it leads to Godliness (1 Tim 6:5-6). How absolutely false! Take heed and beware!

Culture/Societal

In America now, God is being shown the door; asked to leave, told to get out of our lives. People, it seems have no use for Him (their Creator) anymore. So His hand is/has being lifted and consequently evil and wickedness have walked right in with fervent zeal. Therefore, hate is increasing like a freight train speeding out of control and society is in strife, fear, and upheaval. Lawlessness is abounding – all over the world. Hatred with and against family members and children, people killing one another especially here in America. Why? Iniquity and sin are increasing and people’s love for one another is waxing frigidly cold. Many are being offended for even the slightest reasons and political correctness is the new American way. If you preach and teach the full counsel of God, in other words, all Christ’s words you will, today, offend many in and out of the church. Therefore, most of our Christian leaders choose to avoid teaching all the truth found in the Bible and consequently many will be lost for they are not hearing about sin, repentance, and salvation. Take heed and beware!

Environmental/Events in Nature

Environmental or naturally occurring events are ramping up like never before. I’ve heard it said that even the weather people and weather scientists are astonished and perplexed at the weather phenomena with records being smashed and the severeness of weather disasters across the world. Earthquakes are doubling, tornadoes are more frequent and intense, hurricanes resulting in more destruction and death, flooding is absolutely terrible and rampant, deep and wide sinkholes opening up all across the world, unseasonably cold or hot conditions, volcanoes spewing in record numbers, and others waking up after many years of dormancy. What do all these things mean?

Has anyone really stopped to consider what time is it on God’s prophetic time clock? Has anyone thought to connect Bible Prophecy foretold to us by Jesus and His Apostles in scripture with current events? Do people even read His word today? Do they care? Or do most think that He isn’t coming anymore and toss the Bible out of their lives? What about our churches … are they teaching about Christ’s return? Are they alerting and warning people about the events Jesus warned us about prior to His second coming? You know He spoke about this in 3 of the 4 Gospels.

Dear friends, I believe that the Day of the Lord (the day He will start to bring His severe wrath upon this world for its sinfulness and unrepentant hearts) is very near and His severe judgments are just around the corner. God has been and is yet warning us through many events, yes, and through calamities, to turn back to Him – Joel 2:12-17. He will do what He thinks it takes to try and turn us around. In Amos 4, the Lord God repeatedly sent warnings through natural events trying to get the northern kingdom of Israel to return to Him – famine, drought, crop damage, pestilences and wars – but they refused to return (ca. 8th century BC). See any difference today? We are experiencing the same types of warnings through nature and the environment and many of them are getting worse and worse. In the Book of Jeremiah (Jer 8:7), we are told that even the stork, the dove, the swift and the thrush know the appointed times of their going and coming. But we humans seem to be quite ignorant of the times the Lord speaks to us about in His word. And soon His grace will disappear and then all “hell” will break lose!

Bottom Line

Are you ready for the road ahead? Are you prepared? It’s time we got on our knees and did some serious praying; confessing our sin, repenting and turning back to the Lord in the things we do, say and think. BEING READY, alert and watchful are what today is about and what tomorrow will bring. Be ready to tell others about God, about His Son, about His free gift of salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Be ready to give an answer for your faith to others – being active and alive in our faith. Be ready to stand up for your faith and not back down in this antichrist-driven (1 John 2:18) and anti-God-ridden world. And finally, be ready in our heart, mind, soul and spirit for the rapture of the church (Christ’s Bride), which, IMHO, is nearer than most think. Be ready folks, get ready, stand ready for the return of the Lord.

“Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD, Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.” -Joel 1:14-15 (KJV)
