Bible Prophecy Commentary – Volcanoes:
Is God continuing His warning (rebuke) to mankind through increased volcanic activity throughout the world? In Nahum 1, we read of Nahum’s (OT prophet of God) rebuke to the wicked, evil and corrupted Assyrian capital of Nineveh. Nahum described some of the form of God’s judgments. His message to them was ultimately repent or be destroyed. They didn’t amend their ways and were destroyed some 50 years later.
“The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6- Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.” -Nahum 1:5-6 (KJV)
Is God sending this world an increasingly strong message through volcanoes and other extreme weather events? These events seem to be increasing in intensity and frequency. This author thinks the answer to this is yes. When you read the OT, you will discover that God cannot tolerate rejection, rebellion and idolatry for long. He loves us, He loves nations and gives them all much time to repent but He won’t strive forever in this; His judgements will eventually come.
Folks, this world is in a mess! Societal, geopolitical, spiritual, moral, governments, economic, events in nature, wars breaking out, terrorists on the rise are all flags waving in humanities face that something, indeed, is very wrong. It’s time to get right with God and know the saving power of His Son – Jesus Christ – who came. lived and died to pay the penalty for our sins. Call on the name of the Lord and receive His salvation … today!
