Signs of Coming Judgments: Droughts Then Famine?

Bible Prophecy Commentary:  Rev 6, Pale Horse – Famine

We know there has always been famines throughout the world but I think the famine judgment carried by the Pale horse rider and his follower will be one like the world has never seen before. Famine is one of the four ‘sore’ judgments of the Lord levied to people and nations many times in the OT due to their rebellion and rejection of Him. The drought in Calif is intense and important yet we seldom hear about it in the news anymore. And other droughts are happening in several places in the world:  i.e. China and India.

Without food the human population will suffer immensely to say nothing of a lack of fresh water to drink. Calif is one of the most important US agricultural locations and many of us, even on the global scene, need it. With Calif’s reduction in crop production many will be impacted. But to what extend … time will tell. This drought has been going on for several years now and it does not seem to be letting up. Why? Is it God’s hand of judgment on a sinful state and nation? Is it God’s way of getting our attention to turn back to Him?

Consider what the Lord God did to ancient Israel to get them to return to Him because of their gross unfaithfulness:

“And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.” -Amos 4:7-8 (KJV)

Sound familiar to America’s situation? So is the Lord using this form of judgment to get America and the rest of the world’s attention – to turn back to Him? I think yes. But are we turning back to Him? I think no. What’s the future to bring then? Only Almighty God knows but make no mistake, unless we turn back to Him in confession of our sin with sorrowful hearts that leads us to sincere repentance more will come and it will grow in intensity and frequency. This is written in scripture so we would know but many just blow Him off and go about their own ways, doing their own things and worshiping their Godless idols of pleasure and lust. What do you think? Are you right with the Lord today?

Bible Prophecy Commentary – Pestilences:

So here in America the deadly Ebola virus has all but disappeared from the nighty news and daily online reads yet remains extremely dangerous over in West Africa. It seems like the seriousness of anything is ratcheted up or ratcheted down by its relevance via the talking heads on the nighty news broadcasts. How tragic! Therefore, it seems all is well in America, right? All but one of the Ebola-stricken patients have seemed to come through the virus’ ills and well, back to normal we go – peace and safety. All’s OK now?

The news builds it up and then when they decide there is to be no more reporting perhaps because it has lost its value in the ratings, so it becomes extinct in our purview of what is really of importance in the world. Folks, the hour is late and this virus could mutate and get a whole lot worse in the world. But … who’s watching this and the other virus that’s affecting the young here in America?

Also, there must be concern for a sense of heightened awareness in all aspects of news on TV and the Internet, especially in the days we are living in now. Christians must remain vigilant at all times. But, these days who is really concerned? Who is standing their watch to alert others about the things warned in the Bible concerning the times before Christ returns again?

Ebola – as a pestilence – is just one of the warning signs Jesus foretold in Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 17 and 21 and Rev 6.

We must continue to stay alert and sober to the rapid changing world conditions especially in the Middle East. Wars, terror, uprisings, death, killings, economic troubling times and the list goes on. Please take note of these things and prepare your hearts by reading God’s word daily while remaining in constant prayer. I am confident that before this all gets better, it will get a whole lot worse – Rev 6-19. Are you ready for what’s ahead?

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh … Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” -Luke 21:28, 36 (KJV)

Keep alert, keep watch, keep your eyes on Israel and keep in prayer.

Bible Prophecy Commentary – Deception:

Deception in the days leading up to Christ’s return will be filled with deceit, false Christs, and false teachers of all kinds. In fact, Jesus emphasizes it these three times in Matt 24:5, 11, 24. We see much deception in our world today – from nations, officials, world leaders and religious leaders. For the Pope to declare:

“The Big Bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it. Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve.”

… is rather startling and requires that we scrutinize and consider it carefully. Why is he saying this and for what purpose is it meant? Doesn’t the Big Bang theory represent a secular-only view as a one time event that manifested itself in a huge tremendous explosion of matter and light billions of years ago? Where’s God in this? Science has termed it a “Big Bang” event absent of anything stating that God was involved. It’s a secular story of natural processes and quite hypothetical in nature.

Evolution is based on speculation without adequate evidence. In fact, Sir Arthur Keith, an anthropologist and evolutionist, states the evolution doctrine as:

“Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it because the only alternative is special creation, and that is unthinkable.”

Creationists do not condone evolution or at least should not. Evolution’s foundation is science and this science has twisted the truth of creation into the lie of evolution. Do we not see that science in its true form was created by God? Have we drifted so far from our Creator that we cannot see what is in plain sight? How can one consider after examining the human eye, for example, even conclude that it was formed into its current state over many millions of years by an act of some sort of random molecular composition?

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” -Rom 1:20-21 (KJV)

Seek the God of the Bible and His Son Jesus Christ for in Him is found absolute truth and everlasting life. Give Him the glory!
