Bible Prophecy Commentary – Perilous Times:
No, it’s not good news! But it’s what is happening all across America – tensions flaring, riots, senseless killings in schools and in public, unemployment increasing, unloving, unforgiving, Godless, hatred between people on the rise. The Lord warned us that prior to His return perilous times (2 Tim 3:1-5) would come and let me tell you, they are here and more are coming. If you discount this here in America, a land that once knew the Lord and was the world model for a peaceful democratic society, then you are not paying attention. This nation is becoming more and more pagan in thinking, behavior and attitude. Constant in-fighting in the halls of our national government, schools including universities biting-at-the-bit to remove the presence of God from their facilities and academics, public lifestyles void of even thinking about God, let alone following His word.
So what’s filled this void? Pleasure, wickedness, idolatry, greed, pride, arrogance, lust, etc. They have all come in and are filling the hearts and minds of the young and the old. The fruits of which are found now in our streets, cities and in our homes. For example, pornography revenue here in America exceeds that of the NFL; abortion sanctioned, now by our government, kills over 3000 innocent unborns per day. Friends, these are startling statistics but nevertheless true. Our nation has strayed from God and is therefore reaping what they have sowed – violence and lawlessness.
We have kicked the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob out and welcomed and embraced false religions that teach doctrines of demons – 1 Tim 4:1- and yes, even welcomed them into our houses of worship. This is an abomination in eyes of the Lord and America will reap the fury, anger and judgment of God unless they turn back to Him.
“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods;” -Josh 24:14-16 (NKJV)
So what’s the solution? As I have written many times before – return to God and embrace His Son Jesus Christ. Bottom line – people here in America and all over the world need to confess their sin and repent.
