Wishy-Washy Christians, Dead Churches, Godlessness on the Rise!

Complacent Christians and Lethargic Churches

“Be constantly alert, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God.” -2 Tim 3:3-4 (NASB)

We seem to have a nation now that does not look to Almighty God for just about everything. We have severe droughts, unbelievable flooding, earthquakes, agricultural woes, animals dying, people out of work, people don’t want to work, off the charts weather, etc, etc. What’s wrong?

Christians have become wishy-washy in the faith and in their belief in God and in their thinking about God. You know according to Heb 13:8, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. That means as He judged Old Testament people and nations, He will do the same in our generation. In fact, if you read the Book of Revelation, the road ahead is bad, terribly bad.

I’m not painting a picture of woe and fearmongering. I am stating precisely what and who our God – the God of the Bible – is and what He has done and what He will do. Wake up!

If Christians were asked if they believed in God and that was their only building block of their faith, would they be right or wrong. Faithful or faithless? Consider what James 2:9 says…

“You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”

I know YouTube preachers that teach just this – only gotta believe. And I’m sure our churches are full of preachers that believe and teach it as well. This is false teaching!

Romans 10:9-13 – that’s what your salvation, belief and faith need to be built on. And follow this up with 1 Cor 15:1-8.

Now, concerning the state of the Christian churches, at least, here in America. They are for the most part DEAD!!! Kindly read Rev 3:1 …

“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

He who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, and yet you are dead.

The Lord knew they had a name – they looked good and shined perhaps for their programs, dramas, worship bands, and fancy [Gospeless] preaching but they needed to remember who they were and to know their God and repent. So … who preaches these type of messages today? Rev 2 and 3 were written to the Christian churches in that time but they also apply today, not only to our houses of worship but our individual lives. Read God’s word and get to know our God and who He is!

We have pretty church buildings with all the newest tech surrounding the people but there is little if any repentance and Godly sorrow for the state of our churches, people or nation. We are pathetic and pitiful! And so, with all this said, are you known by the Lord – does He know your name, does He know my name? Think on these things!

Godlessness and powerless pastors and people fill our churches since they are more interested in pleasing the people with nice programs, music and fancy preaching than pleasing God Almighty. Consider what Paul said in 2 Tim 3:1-5, powerless people but looked like they were Godly – had the looks but not the guts! Our churches and quite a few Christians have this look today; not all, but a lot.

Many “Christians” are leaving the church because they don’t subscribe to real Biblical truth and a powerful life-changing Gospel. Some Christians are really proclaiming their allegiance to atheism for their lack of faith in the God of the Bible and His teachings. Many are therefore NOT Christians, only playing the role with a lot of whitewash on the outside. This is a tragedy.

Folks, if these comments find roost in your life, then it’s time to reevaluate and come back to the Lord in truth and in His word. Don’t hang your Christian hat on some denomination or pastor, priest or pope. Find God again, confess your sins and repent. Then continue to follow Him and His word daily. Start by reading the Gospel of John, then switch over to Psalm 119 (yes I know it’s long, but worth the read) and read it.

Seek the Lord, for only in the Lord Jesus Christ is their eternal life and total forgiveness of sins.

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” -2 Tim 4:3-4 (ESV)
