Rampant Sin Infects the US. Has God Turned Away From Us?

“Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.” -Jer 6:18 (ESV)

Could the judgments of God be actually upon America and the rest of the world even as I write this? This writer believes that they are and unless we turn back to Him as a nation, His judgments will only increase in severity and frequency. But who wants to hear this or believe it for that matter? So many people, including church-going Christians, can’t be bothered with negativity or “dooms-day” talk for it isn’t calming to them. Folks, these types of people are in for a rude awakening.

Spend some time today reading the first 6 chapters of one of the Old Testament prophets – Jeremiah. From Jeremiah you get his warning to the people to repent and turn back to God or they will be destroyed. Friends, they didn’t heed Jeremiah’s words and were eventually destroyed and the people carried away capture to Assyria at one time, and another to Babylon.

America, in this author’s opinion is in the same boat as ancient Judah and Jerusalem. We have been warned through some real contemporary watchmen and prophets and most importantly through God’s Holy word to return to Him or His judgments would fall. So why is all this happening – confusion, chaos, uncertainty, indecision, calamity, etc, as we gather from daily events, why are they getting worse? Well, we have a President who has a hard time focusing on what he’s saying and military leaders who can’t focus on and make decisions on protecting American’s and our national security? They are instead hell-bent on destroying our military through wokeism and ridiculous cultural-created, self-motivated mumbo-jumbo (such as white supremacy, etc).

Focus on Jer 5 for a moment… Here’s a couple of applicable verses to describe America…

“But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; they have turned aside and gone away. 24- They do not say in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.’ 25- Your iniquities have turned these away, and your sins have kept good from you.” -Jer 5:23-25 (ESV)

Did  you catch this in the verses above – “Your iniquities have turned these away, and your sins have kept good from you“. This is huge as it describes what is happening to our land and nation; intense corrosive and toxic sin has invaded our nation, taken control of our minds and behaviors and we grow even father apart from our Heavenly Father as each day passes. How pathetic and unavoidable if people would realize what they are doing, confess and repent of their sin and turn back to Almighty God. Individually, this is still possible but nationally, at this point with Godless men and women in the highest offices of our nation, highly impossible. Hence, America is under judgment and it will worsen.

America has only one hope and that is to nationally turn back to God as Nineveh did once Jonah proclaimed that it would be destroyed unless they turned back to God. They did from the king down and were pardoned of God. Not so approx 100 years later when Nahum, the prophet, preached the same thing but the Ninevites told him to get lost. They were then destroyed some 50 years later. America, in my opinion has crossed the “red lines” of God written in His word and we are approaching certain destruction. It;s sad to write this, yes, I know but we must face it so as to tell friends and neighbors to get right with God now. This is of utmost importance and cannot be swept under the carpet anymore.

Wars  are in America’s future and we will not fare well, we will not win nor will we prevail as we did in other World Wars. Consider these verses from Leviticus…

“And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. 18- And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19- And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:” -Lev 26:17-19 (KJV)

Serious business folks – real serious! But who takes this to heart, heeds the message and makes the appropriate changes in the mind, heart, soul and life?

“The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. -Deut 28:25 (ESV)

America will not prevail in any conflict coming because America is saturated in ungodly sin and God has turned His face away from us (Rom 1; Prov 1). Consider…

• We’ve kicked God out of our churches,
• We’ve kicked God out of our politics,
• We’ve kicked God out of our private lives,
• We’ve kicked God out of our classrooms,
• We’ve kicked God out of our courtrooms,
• We’ve kicked God out of our social gatherings,
• We’ve kicked God out of our public lives,
• We’ve kicked God out of our government,
• We’ve soaked our land with the blood of the unborn through abortion,
• We’ve moved the boundary stones established by God for the sanctity of marriage,
• We’ve embraced homosexuality,
• We’ve embraced sexual immorality,
• We’ve promoted and exported pornography to the world,
• We’re focused more on worldly things than Godly things,
• We have blasphemed God in just about all that we do.

So how long do you think that God will tolerate this? I came across a quote this past week from Thomas Jefferson. Read it and let his words from many years ago echo through your being, and reverberate in your heart, mind and soul and consider what God is thinking and will do next…
