Plagues, Pestilences and Viruses. What’s Going On?

Without Turning Back to God in Repentance These Things Will Worsen Dramatically

“But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you…Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out… The Lord will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me. 21- The Lord will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.” -Deut 28:15,19,20-21(ESV)

It’s becoming quite difficult to feed a world population of over 7 billion these days. With all the natural disasters striking the globe, food production is crucial and now is under a tremendous threat. We are in danger unlike any time in the past for food harvests across the planet are at risk of severe limitation. So what’s this all about? Climate change … NO!

Consider what the Bible has to say about what led to the disasters in ancient times. Some key [operative] words to examine are: sin, repentance, pride, idolatry, rebellion, rejection, arrogance, to name just a few. You see Almighty God is in absolute control of what happened then and what’s happening now. However, many Christians and those in the church are impervious to what may be occurring in the world today because most are very Bible illiterate. We have been taught that God is love but little has been taught about the justice of God and how He exercised this in the past and therefore, what He will do now and in the future. Consider: Noah and the Great Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Korah’s rebellion, the defeat of ancient Judah by Nebuchadnezzar (x3), the defeat of Jerusalem by Rome in the New Testament, and then the final calamities written for our warning in the Book of Revelation. Simply asked … “Are we now in 2020, under the initial judgment/s of God?”

You see contrary to popular Christian teachings, God has limits, His patience can run out. It happened before and it will happen again – nothing’s new under the sun – Ecc 1:9. There is a terrible invasion of locusts – Biblical style – in Africa right now and spreading quickly. There is a hideous outbreak of Swine Flu affecting pigs in China and other eastern nations (this means that a very important food chain is broken now). And the recent outbreak and spreading fast infection of the COVID-19 or the coroanvirus. Friends, it’s time to wake up and examine what may be happening according to Biblical truth. Mankind has thrown God out of their midst and trampled on the Son of God in and out of the church. We have turned our backs against God time and time again.

We have rebelled and rejected His laws and precepts.

Take a look at Eze 14:12-23. We have continued in persistent unfaithfulness against our Creator with unwavering ignorance and dare I say, in approval. We have poked Him in the eye again and again by our pride, idolatry and fornication with others gods. Yes even in the Christian church. Just cause you go to church every Sunday or sing in the choir and preach from the pulpit does NOT make you exempt from the dictates of an Almighty and Holy and Righteous God.

In times past mankind has rebelled against God in their attitudes and actions and when He doesn’t see any sorrow of sin in repentance then He can, in His timing and according to His will, levy partial or complete judgments upon the land and on its people. I think we see the beginnings of this now across the globe in extreme and severe weather, acute changes in the earth in the form of earthquakes, volcanoes, sinkholes, and intense pestilences creating plague-like conditions. We also see strange things happening to governments especially America’s. Confusion and chaos, infighting and now the 2020 political race. How embarrassing and tragic; to once a Godly nation unified in it’s governing authorities and people.

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7- For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8- All these are the beginning of sorrows.” -Matt 24:6-8 (KJV)

The events called for in the end days outlined in Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 17 and 21 are without question playing out right in front of our eyes. In fact, when examined closely, Jesus outlined a 50,00 foot view of them in Matt 24 – war (or the sword), famines, pestilences and death. Between Rev 6 and 19, we get a granular look at what is exactly going to happen and the forecast is, yes, “gloom and doom”. There is no other way to describe this. (For the scardy cats that can’t handle this Biblical truth … it’s time to grow up!!)  However, He also told us these things before they happen so we can know the season of their arrival. And in this author’s opinion, they have arrived. Again, I repeat, this is not global warming or climate change (these are the weak and lying propaganda of a left-driven society that can’t believe in the things of God). We are, I believe, at the precipice of God’s intense judgments upon the earth. But there is a flip-side to all this…

It could mean that Jesus arrival is that much more upon us. His return to catch away His Bride could be very soon and those that are ready, waiting and watching will see Him and be caught up. And this is the Good News! Those skeptics that disbelief in His return in the rapture will, most likely, be left behind to a harsh, terrible, horrific world driven by evil and evil men, namely the Antichrist. Heb 9:28.

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” -Luke 21:36 (KJV)

Take heed of the things happening now and be ready at any time to stand before the Lord our God. He is Lord and He is King. There are NO others!

Pray for divine direction in all you do. Pray for understanding of His word so you can know the season of His return. Pray for your family and tell them the things of God – i.e. the Gospel. Some will scoff and reject, some will not want to listen. Speak anyways and stay the course.

Let’s remember that the Lord God never condones sin in any form but He is long-suffering and loving not wanting any to perish. But He does have limits in His patience and His patience can run out. Seek Him friends and repent of your sin as often as … daily. Pray and live a holy life in Him doing His will and reading His word.

And our hope is …

“Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” -Luke 21:8 (ESV)

Pray without ceasing …

“Rejoice always, 17- pray without ceasing, 18- give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” -1 Th 5:16-18 (ESV)

“Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.” -John 14:29 (NASB)
