Christianity Has Become Tenderized Across America and the World

Professing to be a Christian Has Become Cliche, Easy with No Accountability for Sin

“Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.” -Heb 12:26 (KJV)

We here in the West have taken the words of Almighty God and pounded, shaped, and tenderized them to fit our lives. When I make a dish with, say, chicken as the meat, I usually tenderize it so the marinade can penetrate the meat thereby making it taste better. It also aids in reducing the cook time since the meat has been aerated and is more or less full of holes. And let me tell you it tastes mighty good, easy to chew, and pleasant going down the hatch.

Well, the church here in the West has done the same thing with God’s word – Christ’s words. No longer do we hear the tough teaching on sin, Godly sorrow and repentance. We no longer are held to any accountability for our sin as preached from the pulpits. We have reduced Christ’s living words (John 6:63) to mere tenderized – nice and tasty – food that goes down easy and smooth. This is a spiritual disaster and has caused us to depart from God Almighty! If you think I’m making this up consider when was the last time that you felt convicted after the sermon was given at your church? When was the last time you wept for the unconfessed sin in your life? When was the last time you repented of your sin?

Or are the words ‘sin and repentance’ stricken from the rhetoric and vocabulary of your church?

Likewise with Godly sorrow. Ever hear of it?

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” -2 Cor 7:10 (KJV)

We can be very sorrowful over things in this life but what about be sorrowful over your sin? Mourning over your sin before a Holy and Righteous God shows that you have identified and know about your sin and now want to amend your ways through repentance. Sincere repentance, that is. A mind and life changing course correction. This is an absolute must in the life of a any professing born-again [saved] Christian. There are no exceptions or exemptions to this Biblical reality.

However, today, in this technically advanced society and highly hedonistic culture we distance ourselves from anything negative or that would show us that we sin. And that reasoning folks is why most churches and many people in the church are spiritually sick and weak spiritually and for some physically. They have become easy targets for the enemy of our soul – the Devil – who prowls around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour – 1 Peter 5:8. Devour, friends … make sure you understand this.

What about the prophet Isaiah … Turn over to Isaiah 6 and observe what one, if not the, most holy man on the face of the earth at that time did and said when He met the Lord. Read about his reaction to the presence of the Living God. Are we better than Isaiah? More righteous? Less sin? I don’t think so, yet his responses show just how sinful we are when faced with pure Holiness.

Today in our Western ways and lifestyles we have softened the Bible (God’s living words), made it full of escape hatches, marginalized its message, minimized its impact on in our lives and completely ignored crucial parts of it altogether.

So where do you stand on this issue? A liberal, fence-sitter or conservative? Will you reassess where you stand in the Lord, what you view as sin based on Biblical witness? Will you weep before a Holy God for your sin and ask forgiveness and then repent amending your ways? (Note: confessing your sins is to be done before God and not before fallible men in pretty white or red robes or others sporting nice priestly collars). The veil was torn in two opening the way for us to access the Lord directly – Matt 27:51; Heb 4:16.

And while I’m at it,  flee as fast as you can from the “seeker-driven” church and movement – their compromising and watering-down of the Gospel to please man is a false gospel with false preachers in their pulpits.

Remember, the more you reject God’s word, the more you shrink back from its truths, the more you discount its impact in your life, the harder your heart will become and the more sin you will allow into your life. Our hope is in the Lord God Almighty only. Jesus Christ – Yeshua Ha-Mashiach – is our only Lord and King. Without Him we are nothing but with Him centered in His will, we are courageous, powerful and strong never to compromise or to back down from standing for Biblical truths.

And Finally –

Please, do not, (I urge this with all encouragement and haste) shun or discount the importance of Jesus Christ in your life today.  He is the only gate, the only road to eternal life – the only way, and the only name by which men can be saved -Acts 4:12.  Friends, all of us will face death one day (Heb 9:27); at that time the compromising or minimizing of Gospel truths to fit personal agendas will end. The untruths will stop, the easy Gospel teaching and living put down. The worship of men and woman will stop cold. For then we will stand before Christ. How will you face Him? Unashamed (1 John 2:28) and sure of your salvation and eternity (1 Jon 5:13)  or scared to death destined for an eternity of separation from God — in hell?

This being said then don’t put it off, get right with God, get back on track with Him, read your Bible. Confess your sins to Him, He’s listening. Then repent, sincerely repent with no joking or faked repentance. Seek Him while He may be found.

So what will you do with this teaching today?

“But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” -2 Cor 4:2 (KJV)
