Bible Prophecy Commentary: God Speaks but Who’s Listening?

For several years now the patterns in nature and weather have been kicked up several notches and now I believe it’s getting worse. From sinkholes to extreme storms, to excessive wind and rain, to relentless volcanoes spewing ash and molten rock, to earthquakes destroying land and people, to massive floods wiping out entire towns. We are experiencing something like an apocalypse in nature but why?

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,” -Job 38:1 (KJV)

We find that in the Bible God used the weather and nature to get people’s attention when their sin was excessive and without remorse. Remember the flood in Noah’s day? How about the 10 plagues brought against Egypt when Pharaoh refused to let the Hebrews go? What about the severe storm that killed 10 of Job’s family as well as his sheep and servants. Almighty God allowed all of these things to get people’s attention. God is the same yesterday, today and forever – Heb 13:8. He will do to this generation like He has done in previous generations. And don’t forget how God spoke to Moses … via a burning bush that didn’t burn up (Ex 3:1-17).

“Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.,” -Psa 42:7 (ESV)

The turmoil in nature we are seeing especially with the furious and intense volcanoes are IMO, God trying to tell us to get right with Him. To get serious about our faith, trust and hope. The earth’s crust is shaking and ejecting huge quantities of ash, smoke and lava. It’s time for us to pay attention to what God may be telling us through His nature. He controls all things and decides the times, seasons and message format of what He is trying to convey. I suspect that most of the world’s population is impervious to all this looking at it from a Biblical and spiritual perspective. Friends, we must start hearing what He might be trying to convey to us.
