Diminish Not a Word!

“Thus saith the Lord; Stand in the court of the Lord’s house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord’s house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word: 3- If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.” -Jer 26:2-3 (KJV)

We live in a world of compromise – in cultures, with people, in political correctness and with absolute truth. And may I say, also in our houses of worship … in the church. The difference between the holy and the profane rarely taught, reading God’s word minimized, conviction of sin missing, Godly sorrow unknown and repentance extinguished.

Compromise has infected almost all we do and has stained our relationship with God. We must flee from this doctrine and adhere again to the truth in His word. For an example, consider what He told Jeremiah to say to the people hoping they would repent in Jer 26:2-3. Please read above and then continue reading the rest of the chapter. Almighty God told Jeremiah to tell the people everything He said and to “diminish not a word“. Did you hear that? Pastors, do you understand this?

If you take up the mantel of teaching the word of God then you have a awesome responsibility with a huge component of accountability. You must teach the full council, the fullness of every word the Lord wrote in His word. We must not forget, compromise, glaze over or diminish one single word. If sin, call it out. If repentance, call it out. Teach the truth of God’s word so people might amend their ways and turn from the evil of their ways and be really saved. Remember, the Lord said this so He would relent of the judgment that would come upon them. Are we not in the same boat here today, in America? Has unconfessed and unrepentant sin kept us separated from a sincere and steadfast relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? And all this so we could have fun at church, laugh a lot, and enjoy “the show”?

Has not America been the greatest nation that has ever existed on the face of this planet? Have we not a huge responsibility to follow the entire word of God? Have our Christian leaders and teachers compromised God’s word in favor of not offending, popularity, or the selling of their wares. Are they afraid of the people or more afraid they won’t get paid because there’s not enough giving for lack of parishioners, if the real truth was taught?

We need to know what the Lord commanded His prophets and do likewise. We need to fear God and not men. We must teach and preach His whole word and not leave out one word. His truth must be preached so as to tell people who He really is so we could be really saved. It’s time to get back on track and seek God, and ensure we teach all of His word. If your church glazes over key Biblical doctrines, then confront your leaders and demand they teach the full council of His word. Take the Apostle Paul – look what he said in Acts 20:27. Are we better than he?

Please consider careful what I have written here for it’s the truth and we must never compromise the Lord’s truth.

Are you saved?

“For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28- Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” -Acts 20:27-28 (KJV)
