It’s Not IF but … WHEN

“The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;.” -Prov 30:25 (KJV)

We as Christians live in a dangerous and volatile society with cultures surrounding us that want to kill us. We live on a rapidly changing planet that seems to be convulsing with pains of something or should I say mourning’s anticipating the Lord’s arrival. Extreme weather phenomenons are striking everywhere and some without hardly any warning (i.e recent fires in the western US). Then we have crazy demonically-driven people that want to kill innocent others for stupid and insane ideologically reasons (i.e. Islam). Bottom-line: we live each day on the verge of eternity for we never know when one of these things will strike us individually or in/as a group.

So what do we do? What are we supposed to do?

Think about where you stand in preparation. Consider it in the physical and spiritual realms. Then start to plan and take action. Always remembering what God’s word says about this … consider the ant…

Physical

Are you prepared for a disaster to hit your area? Do you have food and water, medicine, etc stored up and ready to use if something out of the ordinary happened? Fire, flood, earthquake, volcano, storms, loss of electricity, etc. Do you have a bug-out kit/bag ready to go in case you had to bug out of your home? What have you done to prepare for your family in case of an emergency? Consider what God’s word says to us about this…

“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” -1 Tim 5:8 (KJV)

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7- Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8- Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest..” -Prov 6:6-8 (KJV)

Are you prepared? Now is the time not when the disaster or calamity strikes. Now!

Spiritual

The most important preparatory step to take is to ready your soul to enter eternity. I mean, are you ready to die and meet the Lord? Some serious thinking is required of all of us here. This is reality and these days this reality is closer to all of us than we care to think about. Have you surrendered your life completely to the Lord? Not 70 or 80%, not 95% but 100 percent. If you are sitting on the fence between this world and Christianity, may I suggest you either serve the world or the Lord. You see, if you are found lukewarm (and there are tons of these kinds of “Christians”) then the Lord will vomit you out of His mouth (Rev 3:16) and you will not see heaven.  Friends, now is the time to stop playing teeter totter with the world and God. Now’s the time to make a decision that you serve lust, greed, money or position or follow the Lord Jesus Christ (Josh 24:15).

We are not guaranteed one more breath or one more second on this globe and so we must be ready at any time to meet death. The question is are you ready and have you considered and will you now give this more thought and prayer and seeking God’s face in sincere repentance. We all must be ready for eternity for you have only one chance, one shot to make the right decision while we are still here in the flesh. Are

“Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43- But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.” -Matthew 24:42-43 (NASB)

I hope these few words today will help you realize that we must be prepared for what each and every hour may bring us both physically and spiritually.
