Bible Prophecy Commentary – Volcanoes in Prophecy?:
I don’t recall volcanoes directly mentioned in Bible Prophecy? Yet we know they are indirectly alluded to. You see the he word volcano can be attributed to a fiery mountain or burning or melting hills.
At the Lord’s presence scripture says the mountains quake and the hills melt and the earth is burned (Nah 1:5). When speaking about ancient Judah’s sin in idolatry that the Lord will come out of His place and come down…
“For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.” -Mic 1:3-4 (KJV)
Is the Lord warning us through many extreme natural events such as volcanoes that His arrival may be forthcoming? Something to think about…
