Bible Prophecy Commentary – God’s Laws:

God’s laws are not suggestions or options to a believer, a Christian. But I think most of America think God is kidding when it comes to obeying His laws. I seldom hear about these ‘basic 10’ in church or in casual speech. Why? Have we lost our desire to follow God’s laws; they are still relevant you know. Where the tire-hits-the-road, we have tossed aside His laws and truth and have tamed Him and His Gospel into soft palatable easy-to-digest words, lacking in real truth.

In the last days before Christ’s return to earth many will reject Him and fall away from the faith (Matt 24:10; 1 Tim 4:1). I think this time is here and now. Even those who profess to be ‘Christians’ are in reality not. They do not follow His word, nor obey His commandments. They do not even read His word but perhaps on Sunday, at church. Many don’t even pray; have faith or trust in Him. Many are not saved and instead trust in their riches and stuff. Idolatry is quite prevalent in America today – commandment #1.

What will happen to people when the times really ramp up into the harsh and terrible times described in 2 Tim 3:1-5? Many who say they are Christians today will fall away, curse and blaspheme God (Rom 2:24; Rev 16:11) for what’s coming on the earth. How many of those reading this post still use the name of the Lord in vain? Remember, God’s last name is not ‘damn’! And what about the name of God’s Son – Jesus Christ? Remember this sobering verse that will come to pass:

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” -Phil 2:10-11 (KJV).

Folks, it’s time for all of us to take God seriously and stand in the fear [and terror] of the Lord. He is coming and so what will you do when you stand before Him. Consider God’s words carefully because they are life and they are holy (John 6:63). Yes, God is loving, kind and full of grace but He has limits and will not strive with man’s sin forever. He is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentance – 2 Pet 3:9 and be saved knowing the truth in His Son Jesus Christ – 1 Tim 2:4. Most Christians are unaware that His love also demands His justice which will be poured out upon mankind in judgments for their unrepentant, rebellious and sinful hearts.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” -2 Cor 5:10-11 (KJV)
Keep alert, keep watch, keep your eyes on Israel and keep in prayer.
