Titanium or Paper Armor?

Titanium or Paper Armor?

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13- Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14- Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15- And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

-Eph 6:10-18 (KJV)

We don’t see or hear of many people walking around town with any suits of armor on these days? In ancient times that would be the case especially in the days in which Paul penned the scriptures above. He would often see Roman soldiers in their full gear ready to go off to fight and he would then use this visual to describe his teachings; yielding a better interpretation for the readers of his letters or epistles.

Today various strong metals exist, the strongest being tungsten, the strongest alloy being steel, the hardest being chromium but the most strong useful metal is titanium. And we know the other half of this post’s title is about paper armor which is pretty much useless other than for writing on or wrapping presents. So in what shape is your armor and do you even put it on? Of course, we are talking about your spiritual armor. We face horrendous onslaughts from the enemy of our soul (Satan and his minions) these days and so we must be protected from his flaming darts that would render us ineffective in our witness for Christ and our living for the Lord. Specifically, we need to be aware of and protect through the use of God’s spiritual armor from Satan’s:

  • Fiery darts of doubt, fear, anxiety and despair – countered and protected with our Shield of Faith
  • Penetrating arrows of hate, dislike, fear – countered and protected with our Breastplate of Righteousness
  • Doubt, deceit, deception and falsehood – countered and protected by our Belt of Truth
  • Twisted use of scripture, deceiving many – countered and protected by Feet prepared by reading God’s Word
  • Lies and torment via unclean thoughts – countered and protected by our Helmet of Salvation
  • Flaming arrows of doubting our salvation – countered and protected by staying plugged into the Sword of the Spirit – the Bible

Folks, we face a tremendous spiritual battle unseen on earth right now but the war is waging against our souls in the heavenlies. Spiritual forces that would make you cower in fear and despair if you could see them. But we know our God – Yahweh, Jehovah, is greater and more powerful than anything the Devil can throw at us. Take heart all you who read this message, if you place your trust, confidence and faith in Almighty God He will send His Holy Spirit to comfort and protect you. But you must trust Him and not doubt.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please, I urge you to seek Him today, as today is the day of salvation. Read Romans 10:9-13, then confess that you are a sinner and that Jesus arose from the dead to pay the penalty for your sin, confess Him as your Lord and Savior. Seek Him daily and turn or repent from your sin. Do this now as we are not promised life even into our next breath. When you stand before Him in eternity, will He say welcome home my good and faithful servant or will He send you to a place not prepared for man but for the Devil and his angels – hell. You decide but please make the right choice!

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”
