Bible Prophecy Commentary:

Jerusalem is the spiritual center of the world in God's eyes – Eze 5:5 and Eze 38:12. This is God's possession and any attempt to mess with it will invite His wrath. With the re-establishment of the Jewish state on May 14, 1948 and the re-capture of Jerusalem on June 7, 1967, we are just about ready for the Lord's return. Jerusalem is extremely important in these last days prophecies.

God gave this land to Abraham and it will never again be taken away from the Jews. In Dan 11:39, the coming Antichrist will divide the land for gain. We can't say who this will be now but I assure you he is coming. In Joel 3:1-2, the last battle before the Lord returns – Armageddon – will be against those who divided the land.

The US is pressuring Israel to make peace with the Palestinians. The Palestinians want Jerusalem and even Egypt wants Jerusalem. The prophecy found in Zech 12:3 is being fulfilled as I write this – and more so everyday. I personally believe God will not stand for this city to be divided and will cause tremendous suffering to the leaders and people of the countries that bring this to pass. Watch Jerusalem … seek God … pray for the peace of Jerusalem. This is serious and is not a game.
